Middle Earth in Japan?
Hello everybody, Thanks to one of the unbelievable rare italian-university scholarships (way scarcer than AtS R1s :?... ) I'm leaving for Japan in a few days, planning to be there until this summer. I'll mostly stay at Tokyo and Nagoya (and Kyoto too), but I can move easily. My question is: is there...

Re: The Hunt for Gollum: a hero vs minon scenario
Thank you. I did not think of any CD yet, it really needs to be playtested before! If there is a way to make some challenge deck available on gccg, I can do it; but assembling a 25/25 should not be that hard. I think an average game with this scenario would last less than a normal one. But maybe I'm...

The Hunt for Gollum: a hero vs minon scenario
The idea of writing a scenario concerning the hunt for Gollum, carried out by Aragorn and some minions first flashed in my mind when a I saw the indipendent movie by chris Bouchard. I was amazed by how beautiful it was, and how deeply it grasped Tolkien's atmosphere. Discovering that it costed less ...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
So HtoY makes allies playable at Under-deeps ruins and lairs.
Charming!

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
Ok, Under-deeps is not a region. May I play Here, There or Yonder at an Under-deeps Ruin and Lairs? (I'm starting to be annoying with this question.. :? ) The site has no region, and some ally is actually restricted from moving down to them...But what about allies with no restriction at all? Does &q...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
I thought no region movement occurred with Under-deeps movement, so moving to Mount Gram as a surface site doesn't trigger Scorba Ahunt. Btw: does Under-deeps count as a Region? Is an Ent ally discarded if someone moves to an Under-deep site in Rohan or Gap of Isen? And what about HToY in an Under-d...

Re: 7-8-9 minders in fw sideboard
It happens all the time, with Echoes of the song. Thrall gets discarded, but since the attacched charachter is already in play, nothing really happens. He's not playable anymore, but as already in play he ignores that effect. If the charachter had to be discarded, Echoes would be devastating; since ...

7-8-9 minders in fw sideboard
Let's say I'm trying to run a fallen-Pallando-Prophet-of-Doom deck. I included a few of the most played hero big minders (glorfindel, thrain, cirdan, etc.) in the sideboard, in order to reduce their mind to 0 during the influence attempt. Last night I played live, and another player questioned the l...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
It seems that only allies may have movement restriction (tzk, we all write about movement restriction as if it was a core mechanic, which is not; it is only a generalization out of the text of a quite limited number of allies.. :? ). Thus, a Ringwraith is not restricted from moving in Lindon, even t...

Re: horn of anor and blazon of the eye
It actually came in to my mind when I was building... a Fallen Pallando heavily-squatting deck!

horn of anor and blazon of the eye
A very straightforward question:
could I put (i.e as starting items) a blazon of the eye and a horn of anor on the same charachter? Both can not be duplicated, and both effectively are not. They have an identical effect, but different names, so I guess they can.
That would be a neat +4...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
Well, he surface to Moria, Glittering Caves, or any other surface site (Then, he would have to come back to Underdeeps, hoping that the site hasn't been tapped). That's a case in which he is in redhorn gate, but he's restricted from moving in it, nor has actually moved in it - if I remeber underdeep...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
Woah! I'd never thought that Lobelia's question would lead to such an extensive discussion... I think that movement restriction is treated as a keyword in HToY, but it is not a real "core mechanic"; one could only argue some mechanism from a very limited number of cards... I'm now ...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
Yes indeed... Well, I am now deeply convinced of the unplayability of Mistress Lobelia at Barrow-downs, or other sites in Cardolan. There was no overkilling strategy keyed to that (other than the great image of her scavenging through the tombs), but the discussion helped me focus how intriguing may ...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder
I got your point. But.... I'm not completely convinced. I reread Tom's card, and their movement restrictions are spelled differently: Tom: Discard Tom Bombadil if his company moves to a site that is not in: Arthedain, Cardolan, Rhudaur, or The Shire. Lobelia: Discard this card if her company moves t...
