Re: Caching of card images?

Well I've had a couple of sessions with Nickolai which went well and visited the site plenty more times via new browser sessions. I've found that sometimes the chat and card tabs load straightaway and other times take minutes or longer. My naive conclusion is that when I start a new session and navi...

Re: Caching of card images?

Well I discovered I could make a second shortcut to Google Chrome and add this to end of the target field in shortcut properties: --disk-cache-dir="D:\Cardnum" As long as I only have the one instance of Google Chrome running started from my Cardnum shortcut the card images will be maintain...

Caching of card images?

Does the site download card images from the server every session? I tried to have a session with Bergil on my PC using mobile phone via usb cable for Internet. It was very laggy and connection to server dropped out heaps. Just wondered if there is a way of only ever downloading a card once.

Re: Seeking help via Skype to setup

Thanks Nicolai. Have sent PM which is sitting in my outbox so don't know whether it is also on it's way to you. I see you encountered the same issue at one point but it was marked as resolved. Perhaps it has arisen again.

Edit: Took a few hours but the PM has moved from outbox to sent!

Twilight - "environment card"

A simple question. What is the definition of "environment card" as mentioned on Twilight? I searched the Universal Rules Document for "environment" with no success.

Is Rank upon Rank part of the definition?

Thanks

Re: Attacker chooses defending characters meaning(e.g. Ambus

Thanks for all the replies especially Konrad for pointing to an I.C.E. document that directly addresses the issue. I have a copy of those rules so was good to get them out and read it in black and white! Chris I think your interpretation is logical to. I suspect we'll be asking a few more questions ...

Attacker chooses defending characters meaning(e.g. Ambusher)

Are there any restrictions on which defending characters the attacker may choose for example in regards to whether the defender is untapped/tapped or wounded? For example the Ambusher card. There are no restrictions listed on the card but I wondered if there is some generic rules about how this may ...

Re: PBEM using GCCG

I really believe it would be excellent! Gives you time to look at the map and plan different strategies based on cards held. Plus read up on how to use cards. I'm playing 3 games of Up Front at present - one is over a 100 logfile exchanges but enjoying it heaps. There's a few CCGs on Vassal which su...

Re: PBEM using GCCG

Thanks for the reply emux. I think you are saying that if two people are playing a game (both online at the same time) then doing "/savegame" is tied to those two people. My question is if I start a game solo and do "/savegame" can somebody else open the resulting save file and c...

Re: PBEM using GCCG

I was looking at the manual on sourceforge and saw this entry: "/savegame Mode: Play mode Saves your current game status to the disk in the game server. Each player, player pair, player triple, etc. have one personal save file, which is overwritten each time using this command. Saving the game ...

PBEM using GCCG

I've got all but the rare Balrog cards in the bookcase behind me and I never play them. I made a solitaire version up and posted on BGG before I discovered the benefit of reading glasses. (It did away with reading the small print on the cards) Recently I've discovered the fun of playing various boar...

Re: Is the server up?

Okay I worked it out. The problem was the user id I was using. I think it's one I've used before so there were password synchronisation problems. I deleted the .gccg folder from my C drive and restarted GCCG. It prompted me for a new user id for which I settled on Gnoll and the connection to the ser...
