Re: Insuring out of print CCG's

I agree that flooding is more likely to happen than the others. My friend lost most of his MECCG collection many years ago due to water damage. I think they were in his girlfriend’s basement when it flooded. In my previous home, my water heater hit its shelf life and broke, flooding my garage where ...

Re: Insuring out of print CCG's

What did your broker say when you told him that? Personally, I feel most insurance is a waste of money - including paying insurance to the USPS. Obviously, there are some things you really need it for (home, cars). I would save the insurance money (assuming there is even a way for MECCG to be apprai...

Re: Submission Rules - Please Read

The 2019 ARV Submission forum is now closed to new submissions. Current submission topics may still be discussed and replied to normally. Thanks to all who have contributed thus far! Maybe we can have a second round of votings per year, when a certain number is reached (e.g. more than 50 should be a...

Re: Duration of Short Events

Good point. I will have to give this language some additional thought. If anyone else has language to propose, please feel free. :) If air tight language can't be formulated, perhaps it will be best to revert back to making card erratum on an individual basis. A general Rules Clarification would cer...

Re: Distribution of Direct Influence

Point taken, but I don't think that CRF entry is enough to clearly prove the point. There could theoretically be a character who gives a bonus to "man factions" but not to "man characters." In this case, the quoted CRF could still apply using the OR clause. Or it may have just been the way the autho...

Reversion of Site Types

In is not entirely clear what happens after a card leaves play which forces a player to use the opposite alignment version of certain sites. Therefore, I propose the following Rule Erratum to The White Hand rules insert: Change This: The play of certain cards can change the type of sites that your c...

Re: Wizard's Trove

I guess this depends on whether Wizard's Trove only modifies the site-playability requirements of White Tree (e.g., it can be played at a wizard haven instead of Minas Tirith), which would still require the sapling to be discarded. OR whether Wizard's Trove lets you "slip it into play" without any ...

The Ithil-Stone

THE ITHIL‐STONE ‐ Special Item (R) [MP: 5; CP: 4] Unique. Palantír. Playable at Barad‐dûr. When character taps to play the Ithil‐stone, make a roll. If the result plus the number of scouts in the company is greater than 9, the Ithil‐stone is successfully played. Otherwise, the bearer is eliminated ...

Wizard's Trove

WIZARDʹS TROVE ‐ Permanent‐event (R) [SP: 1] You may play The White Tree at one of your Wizardhavens [ [-me_ha-] ] if Sapling of the White Tree is stored there. Place Wizardʹs Trove with The White Tree ‐ which is worth full marshalling points. Your Wizardhaven [ [-me_ha-] ] becomes protected. Ignor...

Duration of Short Events

I propose the following Rules Clarification: If a short event does not stipulate a duration for its effect, the effect will last until the end of the current turn. This clarification would make the following submission unnecessary - Master of Wood, Water, or Hill https://councilofelrond.org/forum/vi...

Distribution of Direct Influence

There has been debate in numerous topics in the past over how Direct Influence bonuses were intended to work. Namely... Thrain II Unique. +3 direct influence against Dwarves and Dwarf factions. The first interpretation, which so far as I know, most players today accept, is: This +3 bonus may be used...

Open to the Summons

I think it needs to be specified whether or not this card allows the play of an additional character during the turn if all other conditions are met. I propose a vote to issue an official clarification: Open to the Summons allows an additional character to be played during the turn. OR Open to the S...

Re: Submission Rules - Please Read

Maybe too late now. But it would probably make sense to limit the ARV to a certain number of votes. Just because there are so many this year and it could be too much work for the Council to draft (I just feel sorry for you guys). But also, there are just too many votes for the players to review. It...

Re: FS (order) - Custom Avatar-specific Dice

I have only had to pay customs myself once years ago (a jacket from England). In that case, I was billed weeks later by the shipping company (FedEx). And it was a significant amount of money. I have also ordered stuff from international sellers via eBay and have not had to pay any customs/duty fees...
