Re: Geann-a-Lisch: the 4th Darkhaven
There's some lore about Geann-a-Lisch on p. 154-5 of the Lidless Eye Player's Guide. In short, it's the ruins of an old 2nd age Númenórean fortress that was contested during early 3rd age and then abandoned after the great plague. Now filled with wights, trolls, and other nasties and considered curs...

Make sure you check out the Decks threads (here: Gamer's Gauntlet > Decks, Strategy, Tips, Ideas). Two in particular come to mind as useful for your situation: [*]Cheap but playable decks: https://councilofelrond.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=4628 [*]Decks with limited rares, all METW: https:/...

Re: Charter update and processes
I think it is better to respect the players more. The player vote is attractive. Do not accept it? There is a tension here between respecting players' autonomy to determine how we want our game to be and respecting players' time spent dealing with the minutiae of managing the game and community. A ...

Re: Draft of CoE Digest #200 Q1 - Declaring that you move to a site already in play - Open until August 27th
One thing that has not been mentioned thus far is the impact of these rulings on the experience of new players. In this case, I think that requiring players to verbally declare which site card in play will be the destination site for each company makes the game a lot more consistent and less arbitra...

Re: Great time for Middle Earth card products thanks to Magic the Gathering
Thanks for the heads up. Some really nice stuff indeed. I love the Gandalf sleeves and the Shelob playmat. However, I find their « African Aragorn » sleeves and « Eowyn with dreadlock » sleeves so disrespectful for Tolkien (on a par with their « Rastaman Theoden ») that I am not going to give them ...

Ah, I missed that one! I've periodically seen the individual cards around, but not the full box.

Rare misprint curio
I'm neither the seller nor interested in buying (certainly not at that price!!), but I've never seen one of these for sale on ebay and thought it would be an interesting curio to share: https://www.ebay.com/itm/145110250958?hash=item21c93eb5ce:g:lUwAAOSw0Y9kdUi3 It's a full misprint Starter Set with...

Re: Council of Elrond Rules Oversight Committee News
Where can we find links to 'good' versions of the CRFs and Rules Digests? These are frequently referenced, but it's always helpful to provide a reminder of how to find them.

Re: Origin of Angus McBride’s Exhalation of Decay?
Baba is correct, I believe. The bridge is described at the beginning of "The Stairs of Cirith Ungol" in The Two Towers, and the textual description matches the artwork perfectly, including the bridge, the white flowers, the deformed statues carved at the end, and the cold vapours rising fr...

Re: Here, there or yonder ... exploits?
I believe you can think of it as "Playable at..." describes a fixed characteristic of the card (e.g. for the purposes of cards like Strider), while whether or not it can be played is a variable condition of the current game state.
