Re: Do you have 'one card obsession' ... And why?

I think the players look like they have all just escaped from the mines of Moria.

The chap on the far left looks like a descendant of Bombur, and the chap fifth from left has a prize-winning Dwarf beard.

Re: Do you have 'one card obsession' ... And why?

Ever since I read the Lord of the Rings I was fascinated by the Balrog. The beautiful painting by Rob Alexander comes close to how I always imagined this demon from the first age. I especially love those colours. The original painting by Rob Alexander is currently up for sale on Ebay! https://www.e...

Re: Will of Sauron Artwork

In MECCG there are quite a few representations of Sauron with a 'physical' presence - not least the Sauron card from the Balrog set. But also cards like Hendolen, for example, where I am guessing the robed guy on the steps is meant to be Sauron - note the lidless eye motif on the curtains. Strictly ...

Believe it or not, I was offered the original fpor 'Fury of the Iron Crown' by Angelo for a whopping Eu3000.

Even though I collect the art (I have 24 paintings now in total), this was waaaayyyyy outside my budget.

I dont (I must admit). However, this is another great idea - what MECCG images remind you of real life people. Interesting one.

Re: Do you have 'one card obsession' ... And why?

What I love about this game is it works on so many levels - as a game, but also as one of the best examples of diverse art depicting Tolkiens brilliant world. Thanks for these posts - great reading! My 3 favourites in terms of the card art are probably: 1) Lake Town - Eric D Anderson (as noted in th...

Re: The 'Top Ten' Rarest MECCG cards

Thanks Thorondor - I had forgotten about the difficult to get French DMs and Spanish LEs also.

Where would these scale , in difficulty to get, relative to the Japanese Ltd Wizards and Italian Fixed cards?

Re: Balrog decks?

Ah.. Another proud Dutch Fatty owner. My Dutch Fatty is tucked up in his little binder pocket.

The thing with Balrog sets, is they are so valuable I cannot bring myself to even play with the second set either. I have managed to get a third copy of the Strider card though for playing with!
