Re: ARDA VARIANTS

I'm slowly testing an "Intro Game" that takes a lot of inspiration from "Arda Revised" by Ryan Stueve. The most major change is that each card in the MP deck is paired with a specific site when the deck is built, and will always be found at that site when playing the game. The tw...

Duration of Hazard Long-events?

What is the proper duration of hazard long-events compared to resource long-events? A resource long-event affects all players and stays until your next turn, which of course is straightforward enough, and seems to be handled the same way regardless of if you're doing two players, the standard multip...

Re: Arda Minion

Still haven't gotten around to playing this variant yet (been warming my friends up with Hero Arda first), but as I've been going through the cards and rules, I noticed Black Rain was in the card list. https://i.imgur.com/n5esFY7.png How exactly have you been using this card in your games? The oppon...

Re: Maxims of MECCG for new players

If you can't play it this turn or the next, discard it. There's no sense in a "good" card clogging up your hand and keeping you from getting things you can actually use.

Re: METW-only Challenge Decks - for beginners

Ah yes, those nice PDF of mine. Just everyone be aware that the "To The East Away With Thieves" deck is based on the wrong interpretation of the card "Sun" (I didn't know better at the time...) What's the correct interpretation of it? To me, the card is pretty straightforward as...

I always love things like this (anything to get new players into the game), and your descriptions are especially detailed. Thank you!

Re: Arda Minion

Our latest change is to place many things that offer 1 MP point at a tapped or untapped location into their own deck that will be set up like the Roving Character deck or Minor Item deck. We call it the Minor MP deck. Hopefully this will help speed up the MPs a bit more. I'm FINALLY getting around ...

Any chance of adding the German-only promos, like Freca and Zwergenaxt?

Re: ARDA with Dream cards - The Houses of the North

Thanks for sharing this. Although, if memory serves, wasn't Arda always supposed to be a DC creation? The base rules document I have (v5.1) includes rules for using Cirdan, Galadriel, and Elrond as avatars, and that concept has been around for over a decade. Yet, I've never actually seen an Arda car...

Re: Arda Minion

Always good to see an Arda deck revised after substantial playtesting...though I can't say my wallet will be thrilled with all the new MEBA and MEAS additions to the card list. For anyone else building this, here are the changes as best as I could tell: +1 Baugúr (German Promo) +1 Freca (German Prom...

White Mithril (Solo)

I'm currently working on a solo scenario based on the White Mithril rules here: https://lureofmiddleearth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/whitemithril_en.pdf My outline for the scenario calls for a 30-card resource deck and a hazard deck at least as big (more hazards are probably better for greater v...

Re: ICE Ringwraith Lore

It's a little tangential to your posts, but when I was showing my brother my MECCG cards, he observed that the ringwraiths had the same names as the ones in the roguelike game Angband. I guess Angband also drew from ICE's lore. Here are their names in the game: Uvatha the Horseman Adunaphel the Quie...
