Re: Nenya
So Konrad if I understand correctly, Marvels Told is not a defence at anytime to Neither so Ancient nor Potent. Is there any card that would be?

Re: Nenya
Thanks again. That helps to understand the application of the rules to the card. If I may ask one more question (more a confirmation). If I have a stored Scroll of Isildur and my opponent plays Neither so Ancient nor so Potent, am I correct that I could immediately play Marvels Told to cancel the ef...

Nenya
If Galadriel is in a haven and plays Nenya, can she benefit from the "any one corruption check made by a character not in a Shadow-hold or Dark-hold is automatically successful"? I read through posts on Nenya and saw a statement that Galadriel cannot benefit from her own cc and that appear...

Drive back the Shadow and Towers Destroyed
Question #1: Drive Back the Shadow states when you play Nenya and Galadriel is "at or moving to a Dark-hold, Shadow-hold, or Ruins & Lairs...". Does the site have to be tapped in order to place a token? The explanation to the card states "This card just requires....and tapped site...

Re: Helm of her Secrecy
I thought I would check the "Middle-Earth:The Dragons Player Guide" published in 1997 by I.C.E.. On p.45 in describing HohS, it expressly states: "Note that it can be duplicated against one attack." As this was the definitive guide on card playability by the very makers of MECCG,...

Re: Helm of her Secrecy
Thanks CDavis. You provide very cogent reasons for your position. I do appreciate your references to the rules. On that note, you wrote: "The rules are clear: "Permanent-event — The effects of a resource permanent-event are immediately implemented. Its effects last until the card is discar...

Re: Helm of her Secrecy
CDavis7M you make a very compelling argument for HohS not being able to be played multiple times. Thank you for the detailed analysis. But, which takes precedence: card text or rulesbook? I ask because when I read text of HohS the condition is that Ewoyn is in your hand and company is facing an atta...

Re: Helm of her Secrecy
The CRF states: "You can play multiple Helms of Her Secrecy in one chain of effects". I hadn't checked the CRF earlier....

Re: Helm of her Secrecy
Hmmm. This is interesting. But isn't it the case that there is nothing on the card or in the rules precluding 3 Helm's from being played on the Company? And if so, doesn't the card effect only "resolve" when Ewoyn is played? In other words, the effect (of the permanent event bonuses) only ...

Re: Helm of her Secrecy
But how can "She gains +2 prowess" occur before Helm is placed?? The card expressly states that IF Ewoyn is in your hand, then the card is playable ON A COMPANY facing an attack. It's not technically played on Ewoyn, because she's not yet revealed. This card could definitely benefit from a...

Re: Helm of her Secrecy
And hence the confusion/debate... But CDavis7M, the card states "If Eowyn is in your hand, this card is playable...". Here's my view: The condition for playing the card is that Ewoyn is "in your hand", and the company "is facing an attack". The card does not expressly s...
