Re: Goldberry at two wilderness

[...] This is a theory sort of answer. If you want a more mechanistic answer then a creature with 2 or more symbols on it can only be played on a company moving through that number of the appropriate regions, however it is still keyed to a particular region type. According to mechanistic aspect of ...

Re: About movement of joining companies

The bullets do appear in the paper rules. However the bullets mark rule differences between METW and MELE, not just Ringwraith-specific rules.

Re: Goldberry at two wilderness

I think the real difference is rooted in the difference between hazards and resources. Deep wilderness creatures (or deep shadowland creatures) are so rare that they far into the wilderness (or shadowlands). That's why you need multiple regions of the appropriate type to encounter them. This is why ...

Re: Re:

Once more, with feeling. If you play Hidden Haven on Hermit's Hill, you may still discard 2 minor items to make a major (hero version) or gold ring (minion version) item normally playable at the site. However, even if you do this, the item is not currently playable, as per the text of Hidden Haven....

Re: crown of flowers being asociated with any resource

I agree that it does allow the play of multiple SoFs. But this also brings up the question of what happens when the opponent Twilights or otherwise discards Crown while the wizard is unrevealed. Presumably the items under SoF would be discarded, but what happens in regards to the wizard? Is he consi...

Re: Responding to On-Guard Heedless

Hmm let's have another crack at this... ...Alternatively, may be revealed as an on-guard card on a company in response to the play of an item, ally, or faction. Tap all untapped non-Ringwraith, non-Wizard characters in the company. <start chain> (i) character taps to play item, item is placed with ...

Re: Troll Purse / Free Minor Item Timing

I think Troll-Purse interrupts the normal play of your 2nd item. As stated this happens immediately after the first chain is resolved. The attack happens and then if the resource player still has an untapped character he can tap to play his additional item. Since he hasn't chosen to do anything in b...

Re: Greed, Rumor of Wealth-interaction with actions caused b

I'm a little unclear as to what the question is. Is it if there are multiple effects such as greed, Troll-Purse, etc. which effect happens first? I believe it is hazard player chooses, although I haven't looked that up. Also, why isn't greed a passive condition? It seems to trigger when an item is p...

Re: Draft of Digest #122

Hi guys, It's been a while since I've been in the loop, and I'll probably need to brush up on some stuff, but I'll put in a couple thoughts. I don't see why Old Road couldn't be used to play Army of the dead. Old Road says "allows a character at a Haven to attempt to bring a faction into play&q...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder

Unique. Any company moving in Withered Heath, Northern Rhovanion, Iron Hills, and/or Grey Mountain Narrows immediately faces one Dragon attack (considered a hazard creature attack)-3 strikes at 13/8. If Doors of Night is in play, this attack also affects: Southern Rhovanion, Dorwinion, Heart of Mir...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder

Thornsten, if one takes your reading of the phrase "restricted from moving in the site's region" to mean "may not move through the site's region" then the phrase in HToY has no meaning because no ally has such a restriction . The only restrictions that exist are certain allies ma...

Okay...looking back at ToG I think your intuition is correct. Still, I think my main point holds.

Re: Influence check vs. influence attempt (Flatter a Foe)

How about... The terms check and attempt are not synonymous. An attempt is a type of action by a character that endeavors to produce a certain result. There are several different types of attempts which include influence, burglary, flattery, offering, and riddling. An attempt will normally, but not ...

Re: Farmer Maggot vs. Assassin

Sorry to open a locked thread but I found some additional stuff in the digests on this issue, as well as another conflicting set of digests regarding another aspect of Farmer Maggot. From COE 19 14. a) If my company "teleports" using Farmer Maggot against an assassin's attack, what happens...

Re: Mistress Lobelia and Here, There, or Yonder

But I think this doesn't really matter: it just came to my mind that one could have her at Barrow-downs and Worthy Hills (why should anyone want her at Tharbad anyway?) using Farmer Maggot. Which just replaces the site. So that no movement occurs. Whitout rolls, diplomats, or rule conundrums. :o Us...
