Re: Incorrect and non-ratified CoE rulings that contradict the existing ICE rulings and the Rules

I think that as long there is enough HL, the chain of effects is legal. "There is no reason" does not mean "this is illegal". There may be a reason. If something will make Marvels Told fizzled, there may be two Minions Stir in play! And tapping Power Built by Waiting in response to Marvels Told may ...

Re: what is the deffinition of "affect"?

If the two rules are not separate then also the condition "may be revealed when the company plays a resource that potentially taps the site." should be respected when you "reveal a card in response to an influence attempt against a faction". Right? If so, there is no chance for revealing on guard in...

I don't see how the Netrep can make conclusions on influence attempts from a ruling on attacks.
From where the inference that "The diplomat in question must be performing the influence attempt." is concluded from previous paragraph?

Re: Incorrect and non-ratified CoE rulings that contradict the existing ICE rulings and the Rules

The reason that Gates of Morning does not stop an earlier declared Doors of Night is because Gates of Morning only discards (from play) hazard environment cards already in play (Doors of Night is not in play), and on-going hazard environment effects (Doors of Night does not have on-going effects). ...

Re: what is the deffinition of "affect"?

If you do not see a contradiction between treating the two discussed rules as non-separate and a possibility of playing the Times are Evil, then sorry. If I do not see an actual consistency in treating the two discussed rules as non-separate and a possibility of playing the Times are Evil, then even...

Re: what is the deffinition of "affect"?

There are not two different rules for revealing on guard cards in response to a resource being played There is 1 rule. That a card can be revealed in response to an influence attempt is not a separate rule. It's an explanation of the existing rule. The rule is: The card must affect the company or a...

Re: what is the deffinition of "affect"?

Lure of Power affects a character card because it states: Lure of Power affects a character and so it may be revealed on guard. This is wrong. This is my point. Explained above why. There are cards that may be revealed on-guard because they affect a company or character in the company, there are ar...

Re: what is the deffinition of "affect"?

You may reveal a card in response to an influence attempt against a faction even if the on-guard card only has an effect if the attempt is successful. You may also reveal a card in response to such an attempt that affects the actual influence attempt. An on-guard card may be revealed when the compa...

Re: what is the deffinition of "affect"?

Lure of Power affects a character card because it states: "The next non-Hobbit character to make a successful influence attempt (e.g., against a faction, an opponent's character, etc.) must immediately make a corruption check modified by -4." The movement of the character card to the discard pile o...

Re: what is the deffinition of "affect"?

Until translated to more concrete rules, the word "affect" will be vague and will not have any concrete meaning.

I propose the following interpretation: an affecting of X means a changing of state or properties of X.

Re: Bring Our Curses Home & Foes Shall Fall (clarification)

Yea... The notions about "playing a card" and about creatures attacking in result of event are well connected. To not to say "consistent". Oh, wait... Dark Minions: Out of the Black Sky R3 Hazard: Permanent-event Playable if Doors of Night is in play on a Nazgûl permanent-event that could immediatel...

Re: Bring Our Curses Home & Foes Shall Fall (clarification)

I forgot about current state of the rule. Playing a card is the process of bringing a card from your hand into play. This greatly simplifies things. If something comes into play not from hand it is no played. Ha, ha! As bonus it effectively cuts access to Location Deck. By definition nothing ...

Re: Off to the sideness of creature

OK, OK...

An attack with one strike for each of its attacks.

is not your concept, CDavis7M . I am not accusing you for that.

Just yet another reason to be vigilant while reading texts of ICE.
