Re: CoE 2019-2021 Elections - Nominate Yourself Here!

greetings Tolkien-fans As long-time player of meccg (since 1997) and active community member, I would like to nominate myself for another term as member of the Council of Elrond. In the previous term I was part of the Rules Oversight Committee. We introduced the Annual Rules Vote , and accomplished ...

Re: DC tournament rules for alignments

It's not really defined what an alignment is (let me know if I'm wrong). But the CoL-rule you quote does apply the term to the avatars. White/Grey/Black player are not alignments, but keywords also allocated to the various avatars. These were introduced in the first place to distinguish (for resourc...

Re: Middle-earth: The Necromancer

Cards arrived last week, yay!
now I'm on to the herculean task of creating MENE sets, FF playsets, and packages. Meanwhile we'll contact the participants for a check of shipping address.

Re: Middle-earth: The Necromancer

Well X-mas is the unfortunate timing causing more delay, but not the main reason, they had to fly in a guy from Canada to fix their new processing machine. But indeed, the print looks good, I was there at the beginning to proof the first printsheet (the whole print took 10 hours). So, I'll notify pe...

Re: Updating Magic Set Editor

apologies for the late reply, but I was extremely busy of late. As I got the original files of the game (courtesy of Coleman Charlton), I can give you also the original fonts, though the cards were made on an apple machine and I use Indesign on windows. This matters a bit, as it seems Apple has its ...

Re: Middle-earth: The Necromancer

Perhaps you are referring to the First Folk project, otherwise it can't have been much more than a year ago. People who signed up for the Necromancer project received an update email a few weeks ago. And yes, it will happen this very month ;-)

Re: Worlds 2018 in the Netherlands

Thanks for the photos Pawel! You might want to add a few 'winks' to your post (see below), not everybody understands your famous irony. Some might think we bullied Stevie but we like him! He actually locked himself out of the castle when going for a smoke after midnight. Kids, don't listen to your u...

Re: Worlds 2018 in the Netherlands

apologies Heiner, I've edited from "lost two games" to "won only 2 games", I hope that's better  in answer to Gavin's questions: 1) the top 5 of Semi-finals played minion (3) and Fallen-wizard (2). More specifically, 2x Hoarmûrath, a Balrog, Gandalf and Radagast. However, I believe Pawel switc...

Re: Worlds 2018 in the Netherlands

Very nice playmats Eric :) Do you plan to organize new order or they are only only prizes? Well, if you had just won a unique prize through blood sweat and tears, how would you like it if others can simply purchase the same thing? ;-) So I wasn't planning on printing more of these. Of course, the i...

Re: Worlds 2018 in the Netherlands

to set the correct example, I (Eric) intend to play:

GO semi-final
Hamburger
Dreamcards (or GO finals)
Hero 1-deck

and some Arda/casual gaming of course.

nb. there IS a price for the best Arda gamer of the weekend (see up), but Arda results are NOT taken into account for the Overall Championship.

Re: Worlds 2018 in the Netherlands

greetings all participants of Worlds 2018 in Heemskerk, at the Assumburg castle Currently 19 players have confirmed they will be attending the weekend, and some will bring family or partner (another 4 people). Not all will be staying the full 3 days, and not all will want to play in the main General...

Re: Use of documents during official tournaments

a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War, perhaps? :-) Interesting question. Personally I see no problem with the items on your list, except for 1: if you start consulting a library while playing, an 80 (or 90) minute tournament game will only contain 2 turns. I don't think that knowing all the rules and ...

Re: Please give us your feedback - 2018 Annual Rules Vote

Can you be more specific on what potential bias this solution implied? Do you mean to say that the mere fact there is a 35B suggests that most people will (and therefore should) vote YES on 35A? Perhaps. Still, I have faith in the autonomous mind of the voters. And more importantly, would you not ag...

Re: We Have Come to Kill & Ringwraith Followers

Hmm, interesting points, pity I missed that discussion at the time, why did you not bring the suggested change to annotation #9 up for the ARV? Yes DU allows Dwar's company to move using region movement to any Dark-haven (within reach), the ICE rule did not foresee that. Nevertheless, it was a matte...
