Re: ICE's "New" (1997) Multiplayer Rules - MELE Player Guide

My limited playing of the game is a few games online and one tournament. I have made the 48-player game of six 8-divisions (4 hero vs 4 minion per division. Lowering the hazard limit by one when passing is a must else resource player will be decimated. I prefer to have all the hazards in play, but t...

Re: Indiana Jones deck

I read in the METW Companion is to visit one of those dwarf-holds in the north for 4 MP item, Thorough Search for another (before erratum), and Rescue Prisoners (3 MP before erratum to 2 MP) for 11 MP in one turn when using only Dark Quarrels to cancel the automatic-attack (but I think at that time ...

Re: (Un)happy Blows

Let me put it another way. You have two hazards left to play against a company of Orcs. All but one orc is wounded, which is a 5 minder. You know opponent uses Diversion. Use Unhappy Blows in hopes opponent takes the 5 minder to hand. Now, play Beorning Toll to kill the low mind orcs or take to hand...

Re: When a Company is at a Site

First, I did not read anything previously in this thread.
Second, I just want to mention want Ichabod said 20+ years ago in a newsletter now found at meccg.net

Ichabad talks about meccg 2.0 with putting automatic-attacks out from the site phase. Does that help with anything with the current rules?

Re: StrategiCon Feb 2020 - DC Playtest Frenzy Part 2

Thank you for the tales.
One option was to use Book of Mazarbul or a Thror's Map to move from Blue Mountain Dwarf-hold northwards to Thilgon's Tomb for the hoard item Arkenstone avoiding a Dark-hold. No one used Dwarven Hoard with Durin's Day? So many ideas for MEDF.

Re: Tharbad is a Ruin and a Port ?

Still wondering why Minas Tirith is not a port as of last year anyway. It is genius to add new ideas to the game like ports and mountain regions to give flavor. I like how the hidden cost of Thuringwathost was soften. Slayer characters though need to finalized; I am at a lost there unless going solo...

Re: Christopher Tolkien Passes Away at the Age of 95

I am one of the few that read all 12 histories of Middle-Earth. There had to be a passion
to write those books for much was repeated in the versions and to decipher the order of corrections.
Good to fix any sleeping problem too.

Re: Christopher Tolkien Passes Away at the Age of 95

Sad indeed. I had to pause when I read the news.

Today, I had an itch. What happened in Middle-earth on January 15th; yes I know the calendars are out of whack.
PS. Something happened on a bridge that day. Wow!

Re: Fifteen Birds in Five Firtrees

This card is quite the doozy. I think others before have clarify what "tapping to face the strike" means. I use my analysis to include the long text forcing ICE to find a short means to say what they mean. 1. Card gives a great bonus, cancel up to two attacks, at cost of site phase 2. Card allows si...

Re: 112-Fate-Rules

R053 Knowledge of the Enemy card text change It is too powerful I think to remove cards from the game by another player. Thus, I thought of change this hero resource to: Once stored, discard this card to name a hazard card. Whenever your opponent has this card in play (Darkness Ahead) or in hand, op...

Re: Agents and Havens

I think it is wise to use the resource player's site type. Now I feel using Shadows Out of the Dark and New Moon is no longer valid on its own for hazard player cannot target the agent's site to change a free-hold into a border-hold. Note one of my reasons to add power to agents is the power of Thie...

Re: Playing Creatures at an Agent’s Site

I see that the card to use for the site effect is the card used by the agent. Thus, If Fallen-Gandalf makes Bag End a wizardhaven with Chambers in the Royal Court. Then an agent, Lobelia, may move to Bag End used by opponent, which is a Free-hold. Creatures can be keyed now to Free-holds per agent r...

Re: What's your favorite DC card and why is it Backpack?

For hazard creature: Dwarven War Party. You can decimate a hero compan with the right cards or bother minion companies in Southern Mirkwood. Hazard event: Cult of the Eye (MEWR) to bother companies staying in small area. Ally: Bob, a hobbit, a Scout, and handles Lost Knowledge to visit hidden sites ...
