Eric, I am curious if we should incorporate the only other way a wizard can leave the table into the FW flipping rules... Sacrifice of Form. I played it so that if you played Sacrifice, your avatar went away and came back next turn flipped to the fallen side, but that there was no -5MP. But I guess ...

ARDA Expanded World - The CORE 18

Eric, I think both your ARDA set and my ARDA set may have too many new cards for people who DO want to try making their own “Expanded World” rules but don’t want to make all 50+ new cards and aren’t sure which cards are the most necessary/fun ones for ARDA. It can also be the new cards we feel most ...

Hee hee... I can't believe you are still scarred by that! It was great playing that game! Other opinions? One side effect of embracing Domse's rule is that the wizard would then have to keep his state of being untapped or wounded, right? For example, if the wizard was killed, then he turns into a wo...

Okay, so I’ve actually played some real games of ARDA now (five!) with the new elf-lord avatars, rather than just theorizing about them in my head, and I have some comments to make. First, I withdraw my statement that we should try to keep them not as avatars and try to mimic a traditional “Saw Furt...

Tournament ARDA - "The Race to Mount Doom"

At Worlds in Barcelona, we tested a (very) casual tournament structure I came up with for ARDA. I call it "The Race to Mount Doom," and the basic idea is that during the weekend player keep track of how many Marshaling points they get in every game of ARDA played. At the end of the weekend, the play...

If you downloaded the website linked pdf version, throw out that copy and instead download the pdf that is attached to the Virtual Cards thread now...

Virtual Card Tournament Rules: " At least two resources and two hazards from your play deck (not sideboard) must be a Virtual Card. However, if you attempt to start the game with a virtual character or virtual resource, you do not need a second Virtual resource. " We also hope to have "loaner" Virtu...
