Re: ATS R1 odds?
They had print sheets for C/U/R cards. The number indicates how often a card was placed on the print sheet. So, an R2 card does twice appear on the Rares print sheet, a C1 is once on the common sheet etc.

Re: ATS R1 odds?
[Calculations have been corrected on 27Sept2020] There's 36 boosters in a display. Each booster in MEAS has 2 rare cards. -> 72 rare cards per display. There are 9 R1 on the Rares print sheet. A print sheet has 121 cells. The mean number of R1's I'd expect to draw out of the display would therefore ...

Re: Reused art
J Wallace Jones' idea of depicting Carn Dûm as merely a wall running along the mountainside was picked up again by his successors for this site. While Douglas Chaffee sticked very closely to the version from the Wizards set, Stephen Walsh interpreted it with some more freedom...

The interesting thing on Audrey's swords is that Christina Wald is clearly citing them in 'a short rest':

Angelo Montanini did full-colour first versions of some of the illustrations, but AFAIK these are not to be found in the www.

Re: Non-used art
Stephen Graham Walsh has two paintings which I think were done for the game as their composition is very card-game-like and different from his other Tolkien works that he did not for the game. balrog.png The Balrog (taken from his website https://www.stephenwalshillustrations.com/portfolio ) ---- k...

Non-used art
There seems to be many a piece of artwork that was commissioned for the game but never made it into the printed series (by whatever reason). Randy Asplund-Faith did 3 more commissions from ICE, most likely planned as , ents.jpg Ents of Fangorn ------------------ volcanic.jpg Lost in Dark Domains ---...

Re: Reused art
Going further off-topic with the Nazgul. Donato Giancola clearly took Liz' representation as a reference for his illustration of the Ringwraith. Apart from that he seemed to be inspired also by a renowned work of Rembrandt

Re: Reused art
The case of Caves of Ulund <-> Iron Deeps is striking. Great find! Never realised myself before! I don't know of any other recycling of illustrations. There are a few other examples for artists "citing" a colleague's work, though. The Golodhros <-> Minas Morgul example is a nice one. Anoth...

Great to see you're already in the planning phase for the next Lure event.
Too bad I'll come to Lure anyway, however, perhaps with some delay
