Re: Defeating a dragon at home without Sacrifice of Form..

Deadly Dart? anyone, it gets overlooked by heros too often, but can easily gotten with the many cards that get minor items Eh, I'm dubious hero resources could manipulate the Dart. Maybe too obvious, but my #1 suggestion is to go after Bairanax instead of Smaug. Earcaraxe has the advantage o...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability

As an exception, it couldn't have been a clarification but would have needed errata. No, what a card "did" is precisely "how the card usually works." You misunderstand how ICE used the term clarification and errata. I suspect I'm instead confused about your use of "exceptio...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability

My understanding is that this was a special exception for the character draft only, not an explanation of how the card usually words. Especially as that goes against the rules on Events. As an exception, it couldn't have been a clarification but would have needed errata. No, what a card "did&q...

Re: Proposal for Rulings Work

We were waiting for Theo's opinion I appreciate the adaptability in approach your team is demonstrating, but base concerns that I tried to communicate previously about motivation alignment are unchanged. Private conversations with Kodi in fact solidified my perspective that to the extent that CoE h...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability

Regarding Await the Advent of Allies: As far as I know, ICE netreps never explicitly ruled on this. I see nothing indicating a site requirement for playing the card (in contrast with the first response in the other thread). We have many examples of cards that do require their target characters to be...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability

Similarly, we also have Open to the Summons: Ichabod's earlier rulings were changed by: >From: Martin Toggweiler <mtogg...@compuserve.com> > >>When OttS is played during the game it would hang around on the company it >>is played on (as long as the company existed) until an agent was played >>with ...

Re: Ride Against the Enemy (type of attack)

Thought I read somewhere that if you play the character, and it's text reads you lose xMP if eliminated, then you the hazard player lose that MP. Is that right? It depends on your framework. CoE Digest 105 said this. If your framework is to follow CoE rulings, it is right. I agree with CDavis7M tha...

Re: Playing a character "even if you do not have enough influence to control them"

First, These was then changed (I think in Lidless Eye) to this: If you bring a character into play during your organization phase and then do not have enough influence to control him, the character just brought into play must be returned to your hand at the end of your organization phase. This does ...

Re: New NetRep Team

Again, I think you folks want to help, and I can appreciate that intent, as well as taking the time to respond with more of your reflections on your perspectives. I claim no representation of CDavis7M, nor any others, but the discussion already gave several reasonable answers to your recent question...

Re: New NetRep Team

Manuel, thanks for sharing. I think your heart is in the right place. I'm not as confident in your rules work or vision. These seem poor omens to me: The announcement was moved to a closed board to specifically prevent responses. How does this represent "open-mindedness?" In response to in...

[bug] characters hosted to another card

A character hosted to another card (e.g., No Better Use, Press Gang, etc.) is always face down for both players. Owner can see card details and Send info, but opponent can't.

[bugs] Hosting to face down agent

Hosting to a face down agent has two bugs:
* [Major] Puts name of agent into opponent's chat window.
* [Minor] Hides card being hosted from opponent, although it looks revealed to player. /reveal or /hr is a workaround if realized

Re: No Strangers at this Time

I agree with Konrad. CRF states "A card that is played on a card continuously targets the card it is on," and "Hero events cannot target or affect minion sites, and vice versa. News of the Shire is an exception."

What did you have in mind for a different reasoning?

Re: Leucaruth at Home On-Guard

I am interpreting the CRF influence attempt allowances as modifying the CRF rule "An on-guard card may be revealed when the company plays a resource that potentially taps the site. The card must affect the company or a character in the company that site phase. " Specifically, both allowanc...

Re: Leucaruth at Home On-Guard

For the first sentence, it doesn't change that the effect needs to be on the company or a character of the company. This rule covers the allowance to reveal Lure of Power. For the second sentence, preventing the resolution of a declared attempt does not affect an actual attempt because the actual at...
