Re: Armory Hoard Bypass
And if Armory is in play with Crown of Flowers and will be discarded along with it, the minor items under Armory will remain in place. Not in play, because they are considered stored.

Re: Post/common effect - convention
I guess we can agree to disagree. I don't see any ambiguity, sorry. Sorry, but this tread is also read by other users. "this particular magic card could cause a corruption check only if played for alternative effect, but it is different than in case of other magic cards with alternative uses&q...

Re: Post/common effect - convention
And yes, as I think I've said before, 3 sentences in one paragraph in no way makes the 3rd dependent on the 2nd (without additional words or punctuation). Depending on convention, if used consistently. If convention would be used consistently and the convention would be "post/common effect is ...

Re: Post/common effect - convention
Children also break many grammar rules. "Some people" may include "some children". And in this respect, ICE were children when making a CCG. English is a mess of contradictions and exceptions anyway, and the necessary precision in both terminology *and* formatting is manifestly ...

Re: Post/common effect - convention
And since there is no break in Echoes, each sentence has to be treated as equal so the 3rd applies to both effects. Ech... then 3rd sentence is not treated in the same way as 1st and 2nd. Or 1st sentence belongs to primary effect, 2nd and 3rd sentence belong to alternative effect. Only obvious sepa...

Re: Post/common effect - convention
@ Konrad: The point is simply that the use of paragraphs is arbitrary. There is no reason to assume deliberate function in one instance of paragraphing when most if not all others show no sign of such. Do you agree that some cards with alternative uses have a sentence common to both alternative and...

Re: Post/common effect - convention
Period may separate a description of actions/effects belonging to the same - primary/alternative - effect. There are six periods in text of Deeper Shadow. Depending on application a period, comma, colon, semicolon, other characters may have different meaning. If they are used consistently it may be ...

Re: Post/common effect - convention
The two cards are not cards with alternative uses. There is no common text shared between primary and alternative use. So question of separation the common text from rest of text does not exist here. That or another formatting - line break, empty line etc. - may have or may not have other meaning in...

Re: Post/common effect - convention
Almost all cards I know that have alternative uses and have post/common action/effect like "Cannot be duplicated", "Unless he is a Ringwraith, he makes a corruption check..." use convention that the last sentence is separated from rest of text by line break. Exception are Deeper ...

And for text like "Unless he is a Ringwraith, he makes a corruption check modified by -3." too?

Re: Post/common effect - convention
So "Remove this card from the game." is last action of alternative use of Echoes of the Song or is last action of both primary and alternative use.
And what decides about it?
