Re: Dragon's Hunger question
Both hazards resolve. Hopefully there is no confusion about the Dragon Creature resolving. If it hadn't resolved, you would not have been able to play Dragon's Hunger which must be played on an attack. The attack itself hasn't resolved by the time Dragon's Hunger resolves, but the play of the hazard...

Re: 2023-March Civilized Challenge Tournament
Tournament Points: This event will be a trial of the following Tournament Point system in place of the the Council of Lorien system. This system is roughly 1.5x TP of the CoL, and is designed to slightly elevate the importance of winning over the CoL MP gaps, as well as reduce Swiss pairing skill va...

Re: 2023-March Civilized Challenge Tournament
More of the typical cardnum event rules follow. Overarching Rules: Communication – communication with the event officiator (me) must be via the MECCG Discord event announcement https://discord.com/channels/688058353519427660/1070592243699818497, or Discord private messaging if on game info or other ...

2023-March Civilized Challenge Tournament
I'd like to open registration for a Civilized Challenge tournament event. Registration deadline is Feb 28 EST, with round pairings commencing March 1 and in roughly 7-day intervals thereafter. Games will be played on cardnum (or other mutually agreed upon method that supports adding site cards to de...

Re: CoE Elections for 2023-2025
The United Nations may not be "needed," and it may have issues, but that doesn't mean there isn't any benefit to having it. To me, the purpose of any MECCG Council is to willfully create a community, and CoE is meant to be about creating a community for all MECCG enthusiasts. I would like ...

Would it be possible to prevent /host and related commands from choosing cards not in play as the host (hand, discard, etc.)? This could help prevent accidental order reversal or misclicks.

Corpse-candle corruption
I was wondering about the timing of the corpse-candle corruption checks. From an earlier thread (underline mine): Corpse-candle states: " If this attack is not canceled, every character in the company makes a corruption check before defending characters are selected. " There is no conditio...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability
There is nothing about a dash that indicates the preceding statement is a "a new at-will allowance granted to the player." There needs to be a WORD giving that meaning. The words matter because they need to overcome the rule that specifically states that the effects of a permanent event a...

Re: Eye of Sauron
"Alternatively" is not in the text of Eye of Sauron. Move post to cardnum subforum? I agree that Alternatively was not the right choice. @CDavis7M, errata is not needed in the sense of changing how the card works, but still useful for ease of player reference. A better option might be for ...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability
Your response still seems predicated on not understanding more than one definition of the word "may," ignoring the linguistic evidence in the card text, ignoring the actual rulings given by the ICE netrep, ignoring how other cards worded similarly must work in the game to not be a total de...

Re: Defeating a dragon at home without Sacrifice of Form..
Deadly Dart? anyone, it gets overlooked by heros too often, but can easily gotten with the many cards that get minor items Eh, I'm dubious hero resources could manipulate the Dart. Maybe too obvious, but my #1 suggestion is to go after Bairanax instead of Smaug. Earcaraxe has the advantage o...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability
As an exception, it couldn't have been a clarification but would have needed errata. No, what a card "did" is precisely "how the card usually works." You misunderstand how ICE used the term clarification and errata. I suspect I'm instead confused about your use of "exceptio...

Re: Await the advent of allies and similar cards playability
My understanding is that this was a special exception for the character draft only, not an explanation of how the card usually words. Especially as that goes against the rules on Events. As an exception, it couldn't have been a clarification but would have needed errata. No, what a card "did&q...
