I've no problem with Bow of Dragon Horn. Region-keyed attacks are often nasty (Ice-Drake, Fell Nazgul, Ahunt Dragons, even the lowly Cave Drake in Eriador). Reducing the number of strikes of an attack by one without having to tap a character makes a good difference.

In company versus company combat, make a roll (draw a #) before strikes are assigned for each non-unique minion ally in the company the bearer is facing. If the result for an ally is greater than the ally's mind plus five, discard the ally. I'm not sure it matters if the attack's canceled. CvCC is ...

I'd contest that -- normal means as written on the card, and according to the card's text, if a company has discarded the items, the gold ring is playable.

Likewise, the hero Palantir of Amon Sul is normally worth 5 MPs if it has been stored and normally worth 3 if it hasn't.
