WTB high utility cards

Hi,

I'm brand new to the MECCG and very interested in building hero decks to play with a couple friends. I've bought a couple starter decks from The Wizards and a smattering of commons from ebay lots but I don't really know what else to buy yet.

I'm looking for a curated selection of cards that would go well in any deck. Specifically more site cards, cheap staple cards, and cards you can build a strategy around would be very helpful.

I don't have a huge budget for cards, only around $100 USD. Also I am located in the US and likely can't afford overseas shipping. So, if anyone has a few spares you'd be willing to sell me for a reasonable price to help me get started playing this game, it would be much appreciated! But, I want to make sure I'm offering a fair deal here so I'm absolutely willing to go a little higher if necessary - especially if you can offer me a few useful rares as I have mostly commons at the moment.

Thanks very much!

Make sure you check out the Decks threads (here: Gamer's Gauntlet > Decks, Strategy, Tips, Ideas). Two in particular come to mind as useful for your situation:

[*]Cheap but playable decks: https://councilofelrond.org/forum/viewt ... 128&t=4628
[*]Decks with limited rares, all METW: https://councilofelrond.org/forum/viewt ... 128&t=4473
[*]Deck Set for beginners (no rares) & Demo Decks: https://councilofelrond.org/forum/viewt ... 128&t=2133

Fortunately for you, many of the most useful cards for playing Wizard (hero) decks are both in the first three sets (METW, METD, MEDM) -- which are easier to find -- and also common, uncommon, or fixed. There are, of course, very handy rares, too, but you can still enjoy the game without them. Most of the main characters are also fixed, apart from a few like Bilbo, Frodo, Cirdan, Elrond, and Galadriel.

Where are you based in the US? Feel free to PM me, as I can likely part with a goodly selection of extra commons and uncommons (and maybe a few fixed) that can be of use to you.

Thanks, these are great resources. Fun and cheap decks like the ones you linked to are definitely what I'm aiming for.

I'll PM you for further discussion.
