I agree with the way it is. MECCG was made for the point system. It can annoy players over in general 2-deck, where someone with 6 times 4-2 wins loses over a player with 4 dunks. (26 to 28)

If it would count about just wins, why ever try for dunk? Dunk has a higher lose probability, and thats why it is rewarding with extra points.

Number of wins is factored into the Swiss system already: it is the first tie-breaker (2nd is head-to-head and 3rd is sum of opponents' TPs). I favor sticking with the TP system (which, incidentally, makes sense for One Ring as well).

The only reasonable modifications I can think of are:

(1) You get +1 TP for your team for every game you win.
(2) You get +1 TP for your team for every round your team wins.
(3) Double the TPs for both teams from the median game -- i.e., the game with the closest TP ratio.
(4) Double the TPs for both teams from the captain's game -- i.e., the game in which the captains face each other.

In my view, (3) makes the most sense. The intermediate player from each team is the best measure of the quality of that team's strength.

Sometimes you feel disadvantaged by the suisse system, and so it might help you another time. Lets hope that there is something like poetic justice and leave it as it is as long no proper majority agrees to a change.

I believe Swiss system is all right. It's the one which fits our game, so we don't need any change at all.

Team Finland will take part in the event again, team members will be announced at a later time. I think we should start on 7th of Jan (1st is Tuesday).

You may be right, as you cant count the 1st of January as a day (this will more be a longer night for some) this is a very short week.

Notice everybody: We start at 7th of January

(Gives me more time to find my deck... )

Only an even number of teams will be accepted. There's still time...

Hi all,

since the tournament begin has been postponed, is the deadline for teams' registering postponed too? An 8th team would be likely to join soon, but probably it'll only be possible to officialize its subscription a couple of days after december 31st...

Hi all,

it looks like my team is going to drop out. :( Unfortunately Markus hasnt got the time to play. I`m not even sure if Heiner still likes to play. That would be very sad as there would be 7 teams left and we dont know how to handle an uneven number. So if there is anybody out there who is willing to join us (me?) please let me know.

btw: Happy new year everybody! :D

there is also an argentinian friend who might want to play, he is new with GCCG but he's been playing MECCG from a long time. He and me started almost at the same year and place :P, i will ask him to join your team if he want to. He is Fabricio at GCCG, and his e-mail address is:
fabriciopatti(a)hotmail.com

also Dominic (domse) was looking for a team, and he is german too ;)

if i know of anyone else who wants to play, i will let you know!

best regards!
