As our online playing community continues to grow we thought it may be good to at least have a common place for potential tournament organisers to post their intention of running events (where they want) while at the same time knowing what others are already planning to do. The idea here is not to stop anyone from organising tournaments, but simply help avoid disappointments and ensure an healthy participation to each event. For instance, if a potential organiser sees here that two tournaments are already planned for a particular month, they may want to plan their event at a different time and put down here a timeline for it. In the past few years this kind of communications helped with organising tournaments on both the cardnum and on CGGC fronts, so this is just to open a similar channel here on the CoE forum.

Here is the current list of upcoming event - which we'll keep updating as people reply to this topic.

Just a little note, this event is planned to be a "begginers only" tournament for those starting with the game or returning after many many years.

While not definite, my intention was to offer my third summer iteration of 2-deck-length GO sealed.

Jun - Aug 2024 : All Expansion Sealed Collection Tournament 3

As with previous iterations, each player will receive sealed packs from each set (including random Balrog subsets), with the pack distribution configured to make Hero and Minion have about the same playability on average. Based on feedback and interest, this year will feature larger sealed collections (around $130) and TP and pairings will be much closer to standard CoL.

This is intended for all player levels with interest in sealed deckbuilding. For those just getting into deckbuilding, I often sense that sealed can be more approachable than constructed because there are fewer options to consider and opponents are less likely to exploit the more esoteric strategies.

14-day rounds, with the first round devoted to 2-deck-length GO deckbuilding. If play platforms are the same as they are now, cardnum would be the only permitted platform option. Official announcement and registration would be at the start of May.
