Summoning is an Epic/Atmospheric Black Metal band from Austria. The lyrics are almost all about the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summoning is the reason why I discovered MECCG because they use the same Lidless Eye as MECCG.
Especially their EP Nightshade Forests from 1997

One of their best albums.
Most people got acquianted with Summoning with Stronghold and considered it the best album. But for me the best is Dol Guldur, followed by NSF.

Dol Guldur is my favorite too. I really like their EP Lost Tales too.

Yes. Blind Guardian also has many songs inspired by Tolkien.

The main word here is inspired. Summoning uses Tolkien's verses.

Have you heard the original version of Arcenstone from LT? The one by Silenius from his dark wave Mirkwood project?
