it was always one of my main goals to get in contact with as many MECCG players as possible. thus i started to "collect" emailaddresses.
while this is fine in case of sending out some information, it lacks especially one thing: players are not able to get into contact wth each other.

so the players/collectors directory was founded. but it doesnt serve its main purpose very well, cause right now only those with admin status are able to see the email addresses.

my suggestion here is:
create a system, where everybody who is registered at the COE site is able to have a look at the emailadresses of all registered players.
of course we have to make sure, that this is save and nobody gets egistered, that might steal these addresses for any spam reasons.

if this goes to far, maybe a player, that is registered as a US player, is enabled to get the addresses of all US players only.

or even use a PM system, if making addresses public is not viable.

however, right now its not only not useful, but even frustrating for those, who would like to get into contact with other players in their region (seeing that there is somebody but not being able to contact).

Aren't there ways to defeat the spam systems? Brian, do you know about this?

I think we should have emails published and I don't know why this isn't already being done. The other option is to ask people to create accounts here so they can always receive private PMs... this solves the problem of being unable to contact them, right Wolfgang?

 Who manages this list on the CoE website? Wolfgang? I've had several requests (Brian, Timo) for modification of data on this list and don't know who manages it (or how to manage it).

 perhaps make a simple list on the forum as well? Editing a post is pretty easy.

agree. Though having the list on the website is cool too. Maybe Steffen Lutter or even Josh?

I have created a new Global Players List with protocol detailed for viewing the list and adding one's info.

I am moving this thread to the Completed Agenda Items forum.

This Agenda Item has essentially been completed with the new Global Players List. I am moving this to the Completed Agenda Items forum.

I have also merged two threads together on this same topic here for organizational purposes.
