Pukel-creature. Each non-Wizard, non-Ringwraith character in the company faces one strike. His prowess against such a strike is equal to his mind attribute. Any character that would normally be wounded is only tapped instead and must make a corruption check modified by -1. A successful strike will prevent the company from entering the site during the site phase.
As far as I know, the purpose of silent watchers was to scare people away or at the very least prevent entrance to whatever they were guarding.
