Hi all,
well a question has arisen to me concerning Cup of Farewell (V).
lets say I have the following company of 6 characters at teh same site with CoF (V) in play
Galadriel w Elfstone controls
Arwen &
Annalenna
Erkenbrand control
Hama
&
Eomer
if the 3 dudes split of from the 3 ladies (during org phase) can I place 1,2 or 3 minor items with the leaving company
...and if I can play 3 minor items do I even need 3 character in the leaving company or could I place them just on one character (or two)

The way I read it, each copy of Cup of Farewell allow one minor item to be played in a company splitting off from a female character. The play of the minor item is an action triggered by a passive condition (I think), and it the condition only checks whether a company is leaving the site of a female character, not checking for each female character in play.
In order to get three minor items off of one Cup of Farewell, you'd have to have three companies leaving Galadriel/Arwen.
If you have three Cups of Farewell in play, then you have three minor item play effects to resolve when a company leaves a female character.

So if I have 3 copies of Cup of Farewell
and my company splits into 4 companies, 3 moving companies leaving a galadriel/arwen behind, then I could play 9 minor item couldn't I?

That's the current text for Cup of Farewell as far as I know.Whenever a hero company splits off from a company with a female character (or leaves the same site as any player’s Galadriel or Arwen), the resource player may choose for that female character to tap (Galadriel or Arwen do not tap) and place a minor item from his discard pile or sideboard with a character in the leaving company.
This one's a little tricky, but Bandobras is right. A hero company only "splits off" once, so the effects of CoF are activated each time it splits off. So even multiple females will only let you use its effect once per copy of CoF on table.
However, note that if you had Galadriel or Arwen, you could also get a minor item when you actually LEAVE the site, effectively netting you two minors in one turn.
In the last example Vastor gave, he would indeed get 9 minor items, since CoF is activated for each hero company.

Another neat trick is to have Galadriel and Arwen split from each other with 3 x Cup in play to give each other 3 minor items each.

If you're taking up a significant portion of your sideboard with minor items, that's limitation enough on duplicating Cup of Farewell, in my experience.

Another thing I wonder about...
I am planning a new deck with Morannon (V) and the One Ring, as I do not want to loose the game with this card I was going to give the One to Galadriel, but I found absolutly not way, without a corruption vs 12 on how to defeat the 1@24 Maia attack with her
Galadriel is at 3 prowess & with TOR she is at 6, she still needs 18,
now I can either play a magic ring of courage on her or Schwertmeister (to make her warrior to be able to use Risky Blow)
so that is 7 or 9 CP already, with RB I still need a 15, so I need another weapon, best there is of course Aiglos with Doors in play
so now I am at 11 vs 24; +3 RB, I still need a ten, and I carry at least 10 CP better 12
I stop here as have run out of solutions

Spend some time in Wellinghall? Time spent in Welling hall is always time well spent, but I agree it's precious time in the fight against Sauron....
If you find a way around corruption (Friends or Thirteen), there's also a Dwarven Ring, and Nenya of course, which can be duplicated. Play Nenya 3x, then give ring to Galadriel, then play Morannon....(or give ring even later, just before end of site phase). I suppose Denethor has it more difficult still, especially since he's such an awful man, he doesn't have a Friend or Thirteen
Yes it is rediculously difficult, but maybe there is some loophole? Morannon says: faces an attack alone. Does this mean others can't help? I mean normally construction would be something like: as though he were a one character company. I suppose this was intended here but it was too long, hence shorter version. But perhaps this construction still gives room for tapping in support? (and thus Hail of Darts)? not that you'll have any characters untapped after the vicious attacks from Morannon V....
Also I suppose Fellowship does work even though Galadriel has to face attack alone, so that's a plus on prowess and corruption...
Seized by Terror ruins Fellowship though.
All in all, it's doable
