Hero Long Events do not affect non-Hero characters or companies. Minion Long Events do not affect Hero characters or companies. May also be played as Minion Resource.
Hopefully to answer such questions as:
Why does the Great Eye reduce Frodo's hazard limit when he's bearing the One Ring?
Why do Clear Skies give a +2 prowess to an orc who's never been above ground in his life?
On a technical note, this would only apply to things which affect characters/companies, so something like Enduring Tales or Old Prejudice would be unaffected.

Hmm, interesting. But other than tackling the obvious annoying stuff, do you really think it would be worth it to use some slots to 'defend/shield' your resources from having an effect on cross aligned opponent? I mean, they're long-events, they last a turn...is it a good investment?
Maybe if you add something else to it?: resource long-events may be played at any time during your turn.
We (Vastors group and I) started play like this this Lure, because we just hate long-event handclogg, and awful timing effects. Also long-events can be nice in response. Havent really tested it extensively, but it seems fine to me, they are still discarded in long-event phase of course.
