I am not interested to be candidate, but the members of the Council of Elrond are elected for one year, from March to March...
So, it's the time for the 2010 Election...

first of all, the current members should pick a chairman, isn't it?

I nominate Wolfgang, if that is ok with him

If the title under Wolfgang's nick is anything to go by, I'd say we elected him chairman already last year
and if I recall correctly, you were voted second in command Marcos.

Last year's voting was conducted end of May. I'd say we stick to that.

Personally I'd be more than willing to discuss other forms of electing the representatives, as the current procedure seems to stir very little enthusiasm in the community, and the CoE does not actually take revolutionary decissions, not on a regular basis anyway (the proxy motion is about the only structural reform I can remember right now).

I guess we should start the elections. I'll put a post up on this if no one has any objections.

ok with me, actually i already sent my statement to Josh since Wolfgang's last MECCG news said that we should do so...

Soon the election of the next Council will take place. So we need some
candidates.

You are full of ideas, what can still be done about MECCG? willing to
invest your knowledge and skill and a little bit of time? Interested in
developing MECCG? You would like to help organize some things?

Then you are the person the MECCG community is looking for! Write a
short statement and send it to the registrar josh hunholz
josh@hunholz.com <mailto:josh@hunholz.com> till the end of april.

Don't be shy!

hi fellows!
we really should start now to take actions and care for the next COE session.
josh, would you be so kind and start things?
first is to elect the next chairman, then make a list of candidates and finally the voting.

agreed!
but its not only lacking enthusiasm in the community, the same obviously is the case in the COE ...
so one of the plans for the next session will be to change a few things here. but for now, we should close the current session by electing the new chairman. i am not at all eager to become chairman asap, but the whole matter already stetches way too long!
so COE fellows: get up and vote here:

I've posted Marcos' statement in the General forum in this thread: http://www.councilofelrond.org/forum/vi ... =17&t=1456

Everyone else, once the electing a new chairman is complete, go ahead and e-mail me your statement and I will post it in the thread as well. Or send me a PM on these boards if that works better for you.
