Cards and Deck Build sections suggestions

Post by kodi » Tue Sep 04, 2018 4:14 pm

Hi!

I'm using this marvelous app ;) I have some suggestion:

Cards section:
- Add a card text filter. For example if I want to search "Gates of Morning" to show only cards related to GoM, now is not possible.
- Possibility of adding a card to the current deck from this section
- Characters filter would be great: filter by Race, Skills, Mind, Influence, Prowess... Actually I use and excel with filters where I can do it and I use it a lot.
i.e.: When I'm building a deck, normally I want to search an elf ranger prowess more than 3. If I find one, could be good add to the current deck as I said before.

Deck Builder:
- Add view "card text" functionality. Now, if I'm looking a card in deck and want to look the text for looking erratas, is not possible. Actually I have to go to cards section and search it.
- I don't like so much the list structure. It's difficult to read. It could be better without subcateories. For me is not usefull separate in allies, permanent, short, long event, noldoelf, wizard... Only I need separate in hazards, resources and characters (like sideboard list)
- I need check the deck legality like GCCG
- It could be great organize in folders the decks.
- It could be great define against which align is (hero/minion/fallen/elf-lord...)

Thank you very much for your work and effort ;)

Best

B could get cleaned up, totally agree, but will leave sections.
C & D deck legality within the next 45 days, FULL (i.e. DC too).
E could happen anytime, it'll just get thrown in.

THANKS 100% for the request! I don't mind improving in the direction of what players want...

Lagers... (coming up tho)

About the deck builder:

a) Is there a way to export a deck? I guess the way is copy and paste, right?
b) Whatever deck I build it says "Casual play only". Is there an option to change it to "Competitive play"?

a) Unfortunately yeah copy and paste is the only way, I could make a button I suppose for a full deck list, but it wouldn't be GCCG style, more like 6 breaks and each component.
b) The deck categories will be changing, within the month, as I do, Standard vs Dreamcard, and Creature Count 12, actual verification of Hero, Minion, FW etc...

I've been putting together a number of solo scenario decks in the deck builder lately, and I've noticed a couple of things that could be improved. It's odd that when there are multiple potential matches for a card (like Gandalf), the "add cards" box doesn't differentiate them, and when the card is actually added, it's not always the hero version. This is particularly glaring for things like havens, where it can default to the Elf-lord version. (It's also worth noting that sites cannot be added the same way as other cards; I've just been putting them in the "Pool" area.) Similarly, when there are multiple versions of a card available, like Giant which is from both METW and MELE, it often defaults to the MELE version. I'd personally prefer METW being the default, since I'm more likely to have that version of the card, but I could understand if the reasoning was that the MELE versions are often updated or corrected. Also, the option to include a text description for a deck, to include strategy or alternate cards that could be included, would be nice.

I do like that the builder automatically formats the lists, since my normal way of entering cards right now is just putting in the quantity and the name (or even a shortened version of it) into the appropriate text boxes, then, once I'm done, increasing and then immediately decreasing the card amount of a single card in that category to get them all formatted.

For Cardnum overall, is it possible to include the rarity of a card somewhere in its text box? It would be nice for someone like me, who doesn't own as many loose cards as I'd like and doesn't know all the cards by heart, so I can determine what the expected investment might be if I'm trying to put together a deck (as well as possibly swapping out a rarer card for a more common one).

Well the first thing is the #1 reason I made this SW Version of meccg, was because of the utter lack of speed using GCCG, and just with only 60 sites! dawg slow, like a 30 sec pause in between looking at the sites in that older app. So unfortunately there really won't be any concessions made for sites in the deck editor, but I can give you some tips:

1. If you want you can put them in the FW-DC-SB area too and access them with the menu from the play deck pop-up.
2. These are the main codes, like so: [H] (TW), [H] (TD), [M] (LE), [H] (AS), [M] (AS), etc, [F] FW, [E] Elf, [D] Dwarf, ["B] Balrog. If you need any other codes that need to be tacted on, just ask.
3. Every site MUST have the code, or you will just get the default in alphabetical order.
4. This also goes with the Avatar, and some MUST have Dual Alignment Cards.

Yeah the default is Le before Tw on most hazards, i.e. Alphabetical order again. As far as the text description coming there is going to be a NOTES section coming, it's been requested so hang on for that.

I'll look where I can put that, I can add it to the card browser for sure!

That's understandable. Will there ever be a way to include the same site of different alignments, like you might have in a Fallen-Wizard deck?

When I get in the mood to redo the REGEX, I will get around to having 2 of the same name cards in the same deck section. For now tho if you put them in a seperate deck section you can do it, like pool for minion, and fw-dc-sb for hero.

So for instance, let's say you put 20 Hero Sites in FW-DC-SB, and like 4 Minion Ruins & Lairs (semi-copies), in the Pool, when you start the game, you can use this command:

/move-fw-sb, and click the four R&L, and put them in the FW-DC-SB. Even if they have the same name, they'll stick... sound good?

Thanks again!!
