I havent played Meccg since the year 1997 and would like to begin again. I would like to ask for explanation for this simple problem.
When I want to test a gold ring:
1. I have a character bearing some sort of ring for testing
2. I have a sage or wizard capable to do so.
3. I have in hand some precious ring like dwarven, elven whatever
Now the questions.
a) Can I test the ring and replace it with a new ring on any site? Or has it to be a site with gold ring playable?
b) Taps the sucessfull testing of a ring the site and the testing character?
c) Should the testing sage or wizard who is testing the ring be the bearer of the ring too? Or can he test the ring of some other character in the same conpany?
I know that are silly questions but I cant figure it from the rules.
Many thanks

Thanks for a quick answer. After sucessfull testing of a ring this ring is replaced by some better ring which is played - its a special item. Doesn't this playing fo new ring count as playing a item on a site ? Thats the thing I can't understand clear.domse wrote:a) any site, also any phase
b) no and no (in case of the character depending on the used test card/ability of course)
c) doesnt have to be the testing character

Special Item Ring does non count as played "at site".
Greed causes cc "each time an item is played at the site".
Lure of Expedience does not check whether item was played at site, or not.

We will not speak of such things even in the morning of the Shire.
