Hi all,

after trying some decks posted on meccg.net, my friends and I wanted to be sure about some questions (as we are french, we do not always understand fully the rules :? ).
1) When the resource player plays THE COCK CROWS with GoM, can he discard ANY hazard permanent event OF HIS CHOICE (including lures, corruption cards, nazgul,...) ?
2) Is there any definitive answer about the effect of FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED on the Under-deeps automatic attacks ? The only answers we found were not very clear. If there is not, how do you play this on tournament ? (Home rule ?)
3) I thought I read somewhere that the text on THE LIDLESS EYE card should be replaced with the one on SAURON's. But searching the forum, I did not find any. I'm not so sure now : are those 2 cards really different, one giving "only" 7 influence points when the other gives you 10 ? I found some decks playing the 2 cards : are the players disapointed when they play THE LIDLESS EYE because they had the SAURON card in their deck too ? Is it allowed to replace one with the other as they are 2 manifestations of the bad guy ? I found no lines about THE LIDLESS EYE on my errata list.
4) Is it true that TWILIGHT played by the hazard player during the Hazard phase DOES NOT COUNT on the hazard limit ?
5) If I use ALATAR's ability to teleport to face a strike, can I play SACRIFICE OF FORM on THIS strike ? I was sitting at the haven waiting for my opponent to play a big hazard creature on my company, and when I tried this idea of playing Sacrifice of form on BAIRANAX, he said that the text on ALATAR's card was "He MUST face a strike".

Sorry if I posted questions that already were asked, but I can't find any answers, or they were far too complicated for me !

Thanks

1) yes
2) The site has only one attack which cant be canceled. Hazard player chooses which one. Actually you need no special ruling as the card is self-explanatory.
3) All cards which refer to Lidless Eye refer to Sauron, too, and vice versa. Which one the better is, depends on your deck. Do you prefer bigger handsize or faster character play with even more general influence. If you have one maifestation in play you can replace the other one and the first one gets discarded.
4) True.
5) Facing a strike means he gets attacked. If he cancels the strike he still is facing it. So your buddy was wrong on that.

Thank you very much ! That's great : I understand far better the Sauron /Lidless Eye thing.
I'd like to buy some Sauron/ Lidless card, and, given their price, I'd like to be sure of which is the best for me.

Well, I'm working on a Mac, and the last time I checked GCCG, it was far too complicated to install for me  , so it seems I'll die a lonely death :( ( I can stand it as long as I'm buried with my cards 8) ).

I bought cards from a german guy once, and he explained me that he tried a MECCG tournament and that the players played so fast that he did not understand fully and get bored pretty fast... I think I'd be like him... :?

I like to discover this game SLOWLY, and to understand fully each card we play with my friends. We just tried playing minions last year, and it's still complicated. We'll try the Fallen wizards thing in, let's say, 2020

Minor technical point -- Sacrifice of Form does not cancel strikes/attacks.
All of the strikes from one attack against your Wizard's company fail
The game is flawed, but this does not mean it cannot be loved.

5) Sacrifice of Form can be played after strikes are assigned. It is important because failed strikes sometimes requires body checks to determine if they are defeated. Some characters may have items or abilities that modify body of strike.
We will not speak of such things even in the morning of the Shire.
