Hi,

When you have a character who has a prowess post against particular hazards (or a resource like fellowship), as well as an item with a prowess boost (but to a maximum of x), does the weapon bonus add first, then the other effects? Or the other way around?

For example, Thorin would have a prowess of 8 against orcs due to his modifier. If he had a sword of Gondolin, would he have 5+3+2 or be limited to the 8 prowess in total (the restriction on the sword).

Thanks for your help!

Thorin II will have prowess 10 (5+2+3) against Orcs. Bonus from Sword of Gondolin comes as first, bonus against Orcs comes as second.
We will not speak of such things even in the morning of the Shire.

Bonuses from weapons always apply 1st.
