Maybe this is just bothering, but "each non-Hobbit, non-Wizard character at the site" also includes a characters of opponents (using their own copies of the site). Therefore it may be beneficial for a resource player to play an item at a site on which a Greed has been played this turn and force in this way an opponent's characters at the site to make a corruption checks.
