One Ring Strike Canceling?

The One Ring wrote:Bearer may make a corruption check modified by -2 to cancel a non-Undead, non-Nazgul strike.
This does not specify a strike against the bearer. May I cancel ANY strike using this ability?

I believe this represents you putting on the ring and turning invisible. As such I think the answer should be no, but it doesn't actually say so.

There are some cards affecting an attack, but not specifically the attack against a (character's, bearer's) company.
There are rule that says the in order to directly affect or cancelt the attack, character doing so must be in the company facing the attack.
There are no similar regulation concerning a strike.
So formally you can cancel strike against other character in bearer's of The One Ring company using The One Ring ability.
Personally I think that this aspect was just overlooked by rules authors and players (until now

).
