the next Lure is a special one being the 10th anniversary. so i would like to make it even more special for all of us this time ;-)
to achieve this i want to invite to take part in preparing the program. you may have a look at last years program here:
http://www.lureofmeccg.org/program.php
now tell us your ideas and suggestions for improvments (may also be about the whole weekend!!).

just one note:
please do not propose personal favours, but try to have in mind the success of the whole event.
something like "my favourite is drinking game so i would like to have it scheduled all day, starting right after the breakfast" wont make the cut ;-)

Dont tell me you grow soft, Wolfgang :P

I would suggest looking at which events did take place with how many participants, and if they will have continuation.

general opponent is a must have IMHO, one of two chances to play a good 2-deck tournament.

Well, since Heiner lost 1-deck hero, that means that its playable too ;)

DCGO and DCCD are always good party tools (and yes, this time I buy the drinks, Wolfgang).

Are there any traditional games from earlier lures that kinda have faded away?

Gaming is life, the rest is just dice rolls.

Me too, I think that there are no changes necessary! LURE is good as it is! It is always special to go there.

I allready suggested last year on my travel back with Wolfgang, an idear I had for Lure X...

what about a MATHOM trade.
Very Hobbit Style. Everbody who attends the Lure brings some iteam that has something to do with Tolkien or the Lord of the Rings.
It does have to be something that is NOT new.... and should be something you have laying around at home, and don't know what to do with it.
It must be wraped in Paper and brought to the lure with you.
Then at saturday evening, all of them are put on a table and everybody gets a pic from the table.

Maybe there is some game involved in which the order the people pick is determined???

Then there will be a lot of fun with unwrapping the Mathoms and laughting about what everybody got!

We had something like that at the last christmas party from work, and it was greath fun!

I believe that would be a nice event for Lure X.

We definitly need some special events for Lure X...
at least it is an event that should be celebratet!!!

I just got a second Idear!

I might bring a cool cake to Lure X.
Like a realy large Cake with Saurons Eye on top of It.
150x100 Cm at least...or something like that!

Or are there any other cool idears about the cake??
what it should show???

We need cool ways to celebrate the Lure!!!
The next aniversary will be 10 years away...and who knows that we are gona make it...! (allthough I hope we do... and even if we are only 20 people then...*G*)

Oh sorry here is my Third Idear!

maybe some kind of special Arda Game for Lure X.
With totaly made up cards...
which are not about MIddle-earth. But about the players trying to attend the Lure of ME in time. And try to gather the cards they need...

Like a mocked up arda version of METW, where the Map is replaced by a map of Europe. And all the cards are made up.
(Like the Characters are all the METW players you know.
The Iteams are Tolkien Fandom stuff and valuable cards, like "Balrog Compleat Set"...as a legendary Iteam.)
Then in the End of the Game, there is not Called the Council!
But instead THE LURE of Middle-earth beginns.
And everybody must show if he is prepared best???

I know this idear is crazy...but I think quiet cool... If realy realized....

What do you think of it??? Is it too wacky ...or just wacky enough???

Another idea : make a special MECCG card for Lure X, only for attendees. :)

I talked with Wolfgang about that allready... and he said, that this kind of stuff is very very expensive... and maybe not financable.

It is very strange but implement the FW-Sealed format in any way during the whole weekend. and i mean sealed in terms of pool sealed.

I'm going to ponder about a full day War of the Ring multiplayer format with (some) dreamcards. Hope I ever get the time for it, but I think Lure X should have a real LotR event like that, a clash between all forces of good and evil.

it will probably be around 16 player event, 4 evil pairs playing 4 hero pairs, with perhaps a solitary Gollum player and/or another neutral player, with decks designed for the occasion operating in a specific territory. In short, a FATE based type of game but shorter, 1 day, without any people dropping or rearranging.
Sounds fun? wanna help?

Hey, I'm in for the giant 1 day game....!!!
don't know how i could help you, but ask if you need any help preparing it.

by the way...
what sense would a neutral golum player make?
what purpose would he serve?
how could he win on his own?
compared to the others who would win as a team?

Do you remember your first tournament ?
Do you imagine playing without Marvels Told, Smoke Rings and An Unexpected Outpost ?
Do you know how to build a good deck with few cards in sideboard ?
Do you fear losing a game because of the loss of your wizard ?

Well, I think it would be fun to go back almost 15 years in the past.
It would be nice to play a METW-only tournament, with rules of the METW-booklet (i.e. 6-0 defeat if wizard is eliminated, 10 cards in sideboard, ...).
Hrum, Hoom ! Do not be hasty, that is my motto.

that would be a nice idear...but turn out stupid.
because before the first errata, the courruption cards were totaly broken...
with the original rules you didn't have to play creatures at all...!!!
so maybe a METW-only tournament...
but not the original rules!!!!

I am for the Mathom stuff or a Auction of Tolkien stuff like couple of years ago...
Everybody bring some Tolkien stuff and than we will see what to do. Maybe can be just given to Wolfgang to add some prizes or to be given to the worst players (the last to each tournement) or similar things, so everybody can go back satisfied (ok you always come back satisfied from Lure, I want to say that you also won something ...) 8)
