Who gets to decide "things the community wants fixed" ? Some want the 3 mind rule changed for Balrog some do not, just as an example?nb. I would make a separate section somewhere for errata proposals/ inventory of "things the community wants fixed"
CoE Agenda Item #2
I saw in the CoE Agenda Thread
i think the community is who is going to decide thatThorsten wrote:New charter for CoE is priority I'd say. It's the basis.
However, that doesn't mean action/discussion on other projects has to wait, just that nothing definite can be undertaken for things that await the new charter. Errata is main issue here.
It would be good to assign for each project a CoE member as first responsible, to lead/coordinate and report on it. (others still very welcome to join in of course). Chairman, job for you.
As for voting, things go faster without vote, so ok on that, as long as it's clear that a voting can be called if needed. Informal dealings are ok as long as common practise doesn't lead to formal law. And I may assume that all members have a good sense to detect sensitive/ controversial issues and don't work around them.

we will get an idea of what is disturbing for some players, of course as you said there is always going to be people against changing stuff but that is the main purpose of debating before making some rule/ errata become official. CoE was elected by the community so in some way we have to think what is better for it, still you are never going to please everyone.

Actually, I view your posts here as a very positive thing. We are getting feedback from a member of the community. By having the CoE board be transparent, any members of the community that care about the issue can create threads such as these and/or PM specific CoE members to bring up issues.
The game is flawed, but this does not mean it cannot be loved.

As Marcos and Bandobras said, that comment was meant for setting up a place where the community can make suggestions about issues they'd want changed (in rules/cards) and debate them. Inventory, so to speak.
Stone-age did not end because man ran out of rocks.
Again I ask what if you have a split, who gets to decide if it makes it to the next round out of inventory? You're never going to get a consensusThorsten the Traveller wrote:As Marcos and Bandobras said, that comment was meant for setting up a place where the community can make suggestions about issues they'd want changed (in rules/cards) and debate them. Well, why appoint representatives if you don't want them to make decisions and want unanimity on every issue?
but trust me, this will not be unilateral in any way.

The CoE is built to enable there to be a NetRep / NetRep Team and elect Worlds. That is the purpose of the representatives in my opinion.Thorsten the Traveller wrote:Well, why appoint representatives if you don't want them to make decisions and want unanimity on every issue?

that is not completely true:
even though this is not up to date, it resumes quite well the purpose of the CoEwww.councilofelrond.org wrote:This is the Council of Elrond - the world-coordinating body for the Middle-earth Collectible Card Game.
The Council of Elrond is proud to be a player-run organization. It was created primarily to continue and support MECCG since the closing down of the game's manufacturer, Iron Crown Enterprises (ICE) in 1999 and the dissolution of the previous world-governing council, the Council of Endor.
For the past eight years, dedicated players of the game have contributed their time and effort for the continuous promotion of the game; and their undying passion has resulted to a success that is a rarity for most discontinued CCGs: it has maintained its core player base active as well as the high level of competition one could always expect in the MECCG tournament scene. Additionally, the Council of Elrond has continued to promote the important works of J.R.R. Tolkien - the man who served as the inspiration for this unique and fun game.
Entering our sixth year, with a new set of members ready to take on the challenge, the Council of Elrond is set once again to ensure that the Middle-earth Collectible Card Game will continue to flourish and thrive. In addition to our set tasks, we hope that in the next twelve months, we will come up with other helpful projects and activities to keep the game alive for each and every one's enjoyment.
This is the Council of Elrond.

A corollary to the CoE enabling a NetRep is that the CoE must also regulate a NetRep who rewrites rules instead of clarifying them.
