There seems to be a shortage of good video tutorials for learning MECCG, so here's my attempt at one. It's a four-part video series that should cover all the basic elements of the starter game. If anyone has any input or can correct any of the things I say or do in the videos, I'd appreciate hearing it.

I know the videos are unlisted, but I'm planning on making them public one by one in the coming weeks. Also, if there is a better place on the forum to post this, feel free to move the thread there. Finally, if anyone does consider these to be worthwhile tutorials, feel free to share the videos and the playlist anywhere you like.

Re: New Video Tutorial for MECCG (Starter Rules)
Neat stuff.
Video 1:
I suggest adding "Starter Rules" to the title.
Do you have two mics? The voice balance kept shifting around. It should be pretty easy to collapse to a single track.
The (first) video comment is correct about being able to have multiple copies of "Cannot be duplicated" in your deck, with a caveat:
"Cannot be duplicated" means that there can't be more than one copy having an effect on play. (Important difference for Short Events, since the cards themselves are never "in play".)
"Corruption modifies are always in the same place". One common confusion I've seen for starting players is differentiating corruption points and corruption check modifiers, since they occur in the same place on cards. It might be worth adding a 5-second blurb reinforcing that +/- signifies check modifier, lack thereof signifies raw points.

It is not our part here to take thought only for a season, or for a few lives of Men, or for a passing age of the world.

It should be there already. I'm surprised that doesn't show up for you.
That's probably from me turning away from the camera to reference my notes. The first video, as you can probably tell from my cadence, sticks to a script almost verbatim in a lot of places, and as I have about the least professional audio/video setup possible, the poor microphone in my camera has nearly all it can handle.
Thanks for that clarification.Theo wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 5:09 amThe (first) video comment is correct about being able to have multiple copies of "Cannot be duplicated" in your deck, with a caveat:

Fair point. I actually didn't realize there were any non-characters with a printed corruption modifier, but a quick glance at Cardnum does show at least four cards like that - I'll Be At Your Heels, Shifter of Hues, The White Wizard, and Three Golden Hairs. So you're right that it's worth mentioning.Theo wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 5:09 am"Corruption modifies are always in the same place". Anyway, thanks for your comments, and I'm glad you liked the videos.
