There seems to be many a piece of artwork that was commissioned for the game but never made it into the printed series (by whatever reason).

Stephen Graham Walsh has two paintings which I think were done for the game as their composition is very card-game-like and different from his other Tolkien works that he did not for the game.

Angelo Montanini did full-colour first versions of some of the illustrations, but AFAIK these are not to be found in the www.

Thank God it did not make it to the final print. Who are those guys? The bad guys from Disney's animated Mulan or something?
(yeah, I now is the Army of the Dead, but pal, what an ugly picture)
