Saving the Game Letter - Problems & Possible Solutions
OK, I'm new to the community and recently back to the game itself. I want to ask: what is the state of the game/council/community right now. This initial post was great, but some years ago now. What has been done since and what is the current state of things?

Hi Jerbot
I am really a collector rather than a player - mainly because there isn't anyone near me who plays the game.
Hopefully you will get some answers on here from some of the Ents that dwell in the Council of Elrond upper halls. I guess they are gradually becoming trees now.
I like this forum though - it feels like the Mines of Moria to me (i.e. really big, definitely important, full of lots of rooms, but basically deserted) ... I like that.

well this is by far the most active place for ME TW on the planet the other is GCCG, there are more than 100 visitors a day, though not all post a lot that is true, but there are also some hidden sections etc. used for development and such things...
What if we also could be more visible in others channels?
For example Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/6301243471/?fref=ts
Or Google Plus: https://plus.google.com/s/meccg
Great for posting pictures and reports from the sessions you play and so on.

I think the idea of utilizing social media would be for player outreach, and not really for the established players.

i have never been on Twitter either
i have absolutely no problem with this sort of reaching out. the thing is: when somebody wants to start using this scoial media canals, it also needs to be feeded on a regular basis.
as you can see (look at this forum), there is not that much activity and content (right now), that can be spread. first we really should try to get this forum and the homepage going. there are plans right now, let´s see what can be realized in near future.

I agree and appreciate the input.
According to forum statistics and the value retention of cards, there should be plenty of participation here.

Thank you.
The time to lure new players is past. For those of us whom remain. We must save ourselves.
How many are left? All of the forums seem low in activity if not active at all.
And yet I still am as keen as ever to play. I continue to learn (since from the beginning) and play the odd times with
the best of friends. I netdeck and fumble with famed decks like the Cyclops and Fallen Radagast 05
and oh how I like to dunk on folk. It's a clusterfudge of a game with many drawbacks. But to me MECCG, like 'the art of kanly, is still alive.'
Messy and chaotic is beautiful in my book. The love for this game still remains strong. It is never a farewell to arms alwats ' the road goes
on and on.'
And now back to how Cyclops deals with the Balrog problem.

Who currently manages the Council website?
It seems to be in dire need of a refresh.

Hey guys -
Updating and maintaining the website is most definitely on the agenda, but we are waiting to finalize the new Council before this gets started.
This should hopefully not be too far into the future. Patience please and thanks for posting your concerns.

And to answer your question, well, that's part of the problem. Nobody is managing it.thedarkness wrote:Who currently manages the Council website?

Those who did seem to have gone the way of the Eldar.
I believe Wolfgang is attempting to track them down.
