AFAIK there was no errata for Escape.
Nonetheless, text of remastered version of the card is:

Playable on an unwounded character facing an attack. The attack is canceled and the character is wounded (no body check is required).

while original text is:

Cancels an attack against a company. One unwounded character of your choice in the company is wounded (no body check is required). "'Over the bridge!' cried Gandalf, recalling his strength. 'Fly! This is a foe beyond any of you. I must hold the narrow way. Fly!'"-LotRII

that looks like an attempt of introducing by back door a change that makes Escape a strict hero counterpart of Diversion.
Mechanics of Escape (in their original versions) is different than mechanics of Diversion.

The text shown in the official CoE database is taken from the Challenge Decks version of Escape (specifically from Alatar's deck).

As you probably know, the last printed versions released by ICE are considered the official ones.
