How many corruption checks does a character make due to Alone and Unadvised if the character is moving with starter or special movement?

Short answer:

As many as the regions present in his company’s site path.

Explanation:

For reference, here is the text of Alone and Unadvised:
Corruption. Playable on a non-Wizard, non-Ringwraith character in a company with 3 or fewer characters. Target character makes a corruption check at the end of his movement/hazard phase for each region he moved through. All of his corruption checks are modified by adding the number of characters in his company. During his organization phase, the character may tap to attempt to remove this card. Make a roll—if the result is greater than 6, discard this card. Discard this card if his company has 4 or more characters. Cannot be duplicated on a given character.
When using region movement, the character makes a corruption check for each region present in the company’s site path, e.g. a character moving from The Lonely Mountain to Caves of Ulund would make 2 CCs.

In the case of starter movement, the company’s site path contains the types of regions listed on the relevant site card, but only contains the names of the origin and destination region. This can matter for certain situations, such as:

- Checking to see if a creature is keyable by region name.

- Checking to see if an Ahunt Dragon will attack the company.

- Checking to see if certain hazard effects will affect the company, e.g. Spider of the Morlat.

However, all of those situations are specific to effects based on region names, which is not the case for Alone and Unadvised. Moreover, the METW rulebook defines a site path as a sequence of “regions” (not just “region types”):
Site Path: The site path of a site is the sequence of regions between the site and its nearest Haven as listed on the site’s card. A company’s site path is the sequence of regions between its site of origin and its new site.
And both METW and MELE clarify for starter movement:
A site path is the sequence of regions between a site and its nearest Haven/Darkhaven. However, each region in the sequence is only indicated by its type, not by its name.
Therefore, a company moving with starter movement DOES move through the number of regions in its site path, despite those regions being indicated by region type rather than by name. This means that, e.g., if the company is moving from Lórien to Buhr Widu using starter movement, the number of regions and hence the number of corruption checks for Alone and Unadvised would be 5.

When using an effect that allows special movement, the number of regions in the site path depends on the effect. For example, a company using Eagle-Mounts isn’t considered to have a site path and thus doesn’t move through any regions, whereas for special movement effects that do have a site path (e.g. Belegaer), the number of regions would be equivalent to that site path just like starter movement (e.g. in the case of Belegaer, the number of regions would be 3).
