704-The Councils

The minion players will have 8 slots
1-Necromancer or Court of Ardor
2,3,4 Top Three Ringwraiths
5-Aradagor vs. Mouth vs. Dwarf vs. Azog
6,7,8 Dragons, Felagrog, Durlach, Demons
What happens if three of the five dragons/balrogs/demons are killed? What happens?
Nothing good.
One or two things:
1-If a player who does not make the Power Deck has a character kill one of the dead avatars AND the dead avatar does get a Power Deck due to MPs,
AND the killer has more MPs, then the killer gets his Power Deck slot.
For example, Azog is low on MPs. He misses the Power Deck, but Smaug, Felagrog, and Throkmaw are killed.
Durlach and Demons are #1 and #2 of MPs in that pool of 5.
Both get a Power Deck. Then who ever killed one of the three dead avatars and does not get a Power Deck based on MPs then takes that slot if his
MPs are greater than the player who might loose the slot.
Azog or one of his characters killed Throkmaw. Azog gets a Power Deck if he has more MPs then the one who will instead get the slot.
If Demons had killed Throkmaw, then whoever out of Throkmaw, Smaug, Felagrog had the most MPs will get a Power Deck.
Now, an avatarless Power Deck is no fun...except for Elves of Evermist and the Court of Ardor.
See #2
2-If any of the last group above does not have enough living avatars at the end of the Councils, then those with the most MPs will get the Power Deck
as before, but his avatar will be a Dragon-Lord yet played as an avatar or been killed. Ouch.
From the example #1: The one of the three dead avatars with the most MPs will have a new deck with a new Dragon-Lord to start
the Power Deck in play at his home site,
AND
gain control of the cards from one of the surface players with a dead avatar. So, Throkmaw player has a dead avatar but a Power Deck.
He just picks a new Dragon-Lord and suffers the consequence of moving his Dragon Den.
All odd, but it could happen. So heroes, kill those dragons with avatar manifestations.
----------
Councils end:
Durlach.......33 MPs.....alive, but in prison
Demons......30 MPs.....one avatar is alive
Throkmaw....29 MPs....killed by Bolg controlled by Azog
Smaug........25 MPs.....killed by Bard with a Black Arrow in the library
Felagrog......21 MPs....killed by some wizard mouthing odd things about secret fire
Mouth.......38 MPs
Azog........30 MPs
Dwarf.......29 MPs
Aradagor...29 MPs
This means that Throkmaw gains a slot as being in the Top 3 for his pool...but the avatar was killed by one of the Grey Players who did not get a slot
and this Grey Player, Azog, has more MPs then Throkmaw.
Result = Azog gains a slot and Throkmaw does not.
If Azog did not do the killing, then Throkmaw picks a new Dragon-lord and puts the avatar in play at the new home site AND selects either Throkmaw's Avatar deck
to continue or selects Smaug's deck to continue. Yes, some card exchanges will be allowed to a point.
True, this player is at a disadvantage,
but that is life and death.
This rule will force Throkmaw player to continue gaining MPs so to get a slot with Azog near in Gundabad and in MPs.
Azog may stop gaining MPs and try to kill Throkmaw. This then will help the heroes by keeping Throkmaw out of danger from Azog.
But Dragon Den's cannot cancel CvCC with the host. Too bad.
