Hi,

I'd like to know how this FW thing is going to be dealt with in this tournament. The "traditional" way until now has been that one of the decks that the player brings to the tournament has to be the one used vs FW, and it has to be the same one during the whole tournament. However, this is being treated different in the Online Worlds that are being played right now:
Playing vs FW. If you are a Hero or Minion player and your opponent declares that he is a Fallen-wizard, he must also declare which one he is. After choosing which deck to play, you may add ten predetermined cards to your sideboard against a Fallen-wizard opponent. If you are playing with the Wizard corresponding to the Fallen-wizard your opponent is playing, then you may replace those Wizard cards with an equal number of other Wizard character cards that you have available (these need not come from any deck). In any case, you may not play the Wizard corresponding to your opponent’s Fallen-wizard. If both you and your opponent are playing a Fallen-wizard, each player roll a die and the player rolling higher declares first which Fallen-wizard they are playing while also choosing their deck. The other player then does the same.
Thanks in advance,

Manuel

Hi,
I have a question regarding the deck construction for the onside worlds. I understood there is difference in this year rules regarding deck change for the final 4 (first time not allowed). Question: Are the other rules the same as in this year online worlds? In detail:
1. I can build 2 different decks of the same alignment (hero, mionion or fw) and have to use them predefined either against hero or mionion opponents.
2. To both decks I can add 10 predefined cards for the Fw-specific sideboard and I can freely decide round by round (after my opponent has declared he is a FW player and which Fallen Wizard he is playing) which of my decks I want to use against him.
3. If both you and your opponent are playing a Fallen-wizard, each player roll a die and the player rolling higher declares first which Fallen-wizard they are playing while also choosing their deck. The other player then does the same.

4. It is possible to construct and play 2 differentFWs, e.g. a Fallen Gandalf deck against Minion opponents and a Fallen Radagast against Heroe opponents. In this case if I have the lower dice roll in a FW against FW match I could still pick freely which FW deck I want to play. This means, I could still Fallen Rafagast even my opponent declares he plays e.g. his Fallen Radagst Deck against Hero?!

Many thanks for an answer. The points 2 and 3 are new rulings in deck construction used in this years online worlds. In former worlds you always had to predefine the deck which you play against FW and only to this deck you were allow to add an anti FW sideboard.
In order to avoid confusion I think we should use for the future the same rules in online and onside worlds except for game duration.

So I hope everyone read the Hsmburg post carefully.

It is especially very important because deck changes for the final 4 are not allowed, so in deck construction for the semifinal you should in my opinion already include your thoughts about potential final four opponents and their probable tournament decks ;-)

Cheers

I have the exact same questions as Heiner. Only a small remark, though:

As far as I remember, last year's worlds in USA, decks couldn't be changed for the final 4, so players had to play the same decks for the whole tournament.

As for the FW vs FW, if we are to play as it's being played in Online Worlds, both players freely choose which deck to play, but the lowest roll will decide already knowing which FW the opponent will play. And yes, you can have two decks with different avatars. I see some interesting strategy decisions there, so that's why it's so important to know now.

Personally, but of course it's up to the IRL Worlds organisers, I think that sticking to the same deck against FW is not only inconsistent with past rulings but also not enforceable.

Hamburg has a pretty easy U-bahn system, that will get you anywhere fairly easy and cheap

Hi guys, after having a brief look on the schedule I regnonized that it is build on the assumption to play a 4 round qualifier. According to the offical tournament rules it has to be 5 round with 17+ parcipiants, what I think miggt be pretty probable?! For this worlds that offical rule is ignored or it will be 5 rounds if 17+? Sorry for asking, but it has an impact for my Saturday night plans ;-)

Cheers

Heiner
