Hi,
From the schedule I understand that the worlds will be played as single multiple round tournament without a final on sunday. Is this right?! Many thanks for an answer :-). I will check out if I have the ability to participate so would be good to have some insides. Cheers Heiner

The final is scheduled for late Sunday morning (given the site's opening hours). For greater clarity, I have adjusted the information on the registration form. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Hi, thx for the info. There is an other question that is not defined in normal GO tournament rules at least as far as I know. Is it allowed to change the deck for the final four round (this was the way it was handled for a long long time) or the finalists have to keep their decks from the semifinals? There was a big discussion the last year, not sure if there was an offical decission regarding that for future WC tournaments?! So probably the WC organizer (you;-)) have to define that, the ealier the better so everyone has time to prepare his decks?! Cheers Heiner

Hi, we are following the CoE Tournament rules policy. https://www.councilofelrond.org/policies/

Section #7 for details:

7. Deck Integrity – Each player is required to use the same deck (i.e. the same location deck, play deck, sideboard, and pool) for the entire tournament. Players at in-person tournaments are expected to submit a written list of all cards in their deck(s) to the tournament coordinator, who may check integrity of decks during the tournament at their discretion. All players who reach playoff rounds must also submit their physical deck(s) to the tournament coordinator to ensure deck integrity based on the submitted written lists, and any player whose deck fails this integrity check will be disqualified from the event (to be replaced by the next highest ranked player, who will then have their physical deck(s) checked, etc.). Once the top four players with legally submitted decks are determined, physical decks will be returned to their owners immediately before playoff rounds commence.

Hi, I finally got it, the finalists have to keep the deck, they have to provide the same physical version of it for the finals for the check. English is not my mother language ;-). See you in Montreal, already booked me a flight from Frankfurt today :-) Cheers Heiner

Looking forward to this Worlds and seeing some friends from Worlds 2014 (Heiner), Worlds 2023, and Lure 2024 (Patrick and others organizing this event).
I just got my tickets today. I'm taking a red-eye flight and will arrive in Montreal in the late morning on Friday and I'll be staying until Monday morning.
Besides a tournament deck I plan to bring a Dreamcard deck or two.
If it fits in my luggage and if I finish it, I will bring my Fallen Wizard version of ARDA. *(It's a drinking game.)* We will have to look for a nearby venue.
Who else is coming?

Quick update about registrations

Actually I can confirm that we have people from:
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • Germany
  • USA
I have a few people who have expressed an interest, but are still seeing if they can spare the time to come to the event, or if they can come as a group to share some of the costs. These will be last-minute registrations.

Don't hesitate to invite your friends.
