Brian "No Cheeze" Wong has informed me that he's likely to attend Worlds 2007! Perhaps we can convince others to come too.... Who else is there?
1998: Hector Sans Gomez (Spain)
1999: Georg Kuhlmeyer (Germany)
2000: Steve Cantens (Belgium)
2001: Brian Wong (Canada)
2002: Wanja Hargens (Germany)
2003: Jeroen Ouwehand (Netherlands)
2004: Mark Alfano (USA)
2005: Patric Laxander (Germany)
2006: Mark Alfano (USA)
I think Brian won in either 2001 or 2002; is that right? Who am I missing? I noticed we don't have links to the websites for worlds 2001 or 2002... do they exist? If so, what are the urls?
Former world champion to attend!

It'll be great if Brian Wong shows up. Nice guy.
I've talked to the "Southrons" and as things stand now, 3 people will be coming up for Worlds (Kenyon, Carney and one of the Atlanta group).

I just updated the CoE site with a link to the 2001 worlds (Tolen Mar).
Strangely enough, the URL for Worlds 2002 (http://www.meccg-worlds02-cologne.net.tf/) links to meccg.net. But I don't find any content there from 2002.

Brian,
I am a jerk, not because I forgot you are in Atlanta now, but for many other reasons.
Brian (Wong) is nice, Brian (Sauron) is mean.
Hopefully, we'll get matched up at some point. It's been quite a while since we've played.
BTW, I've had some questions about how qualifiers will be handled, based on the total number of attendees vs. those already prequalified, i.e. if 20 people show and 14 are already prequalified, etc.

Birk Pfeiffer of Germany recently signed up. I'm also in communication with a number of other players around the world, trying to convince them to come. Currently, I have high hopes for 1 Swedish player, 1 Belgian, 1 Japanese, 1-5 Spanish, and 3 Australian.... This should be an event to remember!
Regarding qualifiers: If only a handful of people are not pre-qualified, I will be sorely tempted just to shuffle everyone through to the semi-finals. It was a real pity to see players who traveled long distances not playing on Saturday in Atlanta 2004. That will not happen again.
