Very cool. It's nice that the films gave LotR attention so the fans keep getting stuff like this. You must need to be a super fan to Spend $500 on this, I mean, ~$763 from a scalper on eBay.

I prefer the generic lego men. Like these "Rangers of Ithilien," available for just $36... I mean, ~$763 from a collector on eBay.

500$ is a standard price per huge Lego set :) LOTR is a first-day-buy :)
Sets from 80's were great, some weeks ago Lego relaunched modified version of 6054 signed as 40657 - Forest Hideout. Also Your 6077 with modern version (no. 910001) :)

I had that set! These "robinhood" sets and the pirate sets were my favorites as a kid. I believe all of the pieces might still be floating around in my parents' attic.

At £400+ this is a really expensive set of Lego. I could only justify buying it on the grounds I could sale it later and get my money back. However, this can only apply if the set is never opened. So it is a situation of no buy - I would want to actually open and build the model, which would reduce its value immediately to maybe a quarter of the purchase price. Of course, ondividual mini-figs may be valuable in the future - but that is a gamble. It's a miss from me.
