So far as I know, there are a few potential bidders for Worlds 2009:
Germany (Mario said he might be willing)
Spain (Marc Roca said he might be willing)
Finland (Mikko said he might be willing)
Shall we contact these gentlemen and see what they think now?
(By the way, I'm
BACK!)

We as CoE should make it official. So call out to everyone and ask for bids.
One of us could contact Mario, Marc and Mikko in private and see how they feel about hosting worlds next year.
My 2 cents,
Stefan

I don't know Mario's email address... can someone who knows him please get in touch with him (and let us know that you are doing so)?

I got some news from Mario: he (and me too) is still interested. The biggest problem might be that we don’t live in a big city such as Frankfurt. This means that possible locations (we still have to find one) would be in a more or less small-town surrounding without a big night-life. Marburg, “our city”, is a nice medieval town with a 40 minutes train connection from Frankfurt, though.
If another German player brings forth a nice location in his “bigger” city we might of course be willing to help him organizing Worlds there, too.
So please let us know what you think.

I thought Birk was going to organize Worlds at Berlin... at least I was told so last summer at Antwerp. Anyway, any other german town will be nice, for sure (I just wanted to sing "First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin" ).
I don't know Marc Roca's proposal about this subject, though if German fails for any reason, we could held Worlds in Madrid... I think I can guarantee 20+ Spanish players eager to play

Let them come! There is one dwarf yet in Moria that still draws breath!

I fear that Mario and me are no longer able to organize worlds in Germany due to lack of time during this summer.
However if someone else steps forth willing to organize worlds in Germany we could probably assist a little bit at least.
What about Poland by the way? IIRC this was an option, too. Any news from there?

we have been talking about Worlds 09 during Lure. looks like spain (barcelona) is willing to have worlds.
i hope we get some more details soon.
but shouldnt first the COE send out some info so that intrested nations can place a bid? at least thats what we have done in the past (and what the charta says).
i know mark is VERY busy right now, but maybe someone else can do that? its not that much work, just copying and updating the email of previous years.
