Thanks for the welcome! I've been having extreme problems getting older software and games to install or run correctly on Windows 7 -especially anything that installs via a .bat file. I don't see any support for this at GCCG's website either.Vastor Peredhil wrote:Hola amigo, welcome to our little community
well so do we make sure to check out the GCCG section using what we call the SVN access, right now we are changing servers, but you should still be able to register at

DC map looks *great*!
I haven't been able to locate the DreamCard region only map in the subversion repo, I don't see a map directory either for some reason. I'm looking here:
http://gccg.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gccg/core/
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

You are correct
this maps are not in core, as CORE is on a sourceforge server, with really strict copy rights laws
but we are waiting on our new "metw" gccg server (tree) where all maps will be then placed

for my part I see no problems to use the map within your personal community.
But at the time I have no information, if there still exist any property rights by Tolkien Enterprises or even by Warner Bros or any similar company. In this case it can generate a lot of troubles, when you use the map for commercial purposes.
I'm sorry that I cannot really help you with a precise information about this.
Best regards

In the late 90' ICE have release a cards game called Middle-earth : The Wizards. The game have a map of middle-earth too. Our community of players which still play the game 14 years after the game was canceled want to ask if you could give to us the "authorisation" to use your map to create a better map for our game. We want to print a map for our personnal use. We doesn't want to do nothing more than adapt your map for our game.

After following several links, I was able to download the map. It looks really bautiful and the quality of the image is excellent. I find it a bit hard to read, though. Take a look at this "high-contrast" attempt. Not as beautiful but very easy to read:thenamelessthing wrote: You can look what it can look at my trade page by clicking on my signature banner to access my tradepage:

Something in the middle would be awesome (for my personal taste).

Kudos guys, for making this map, and also contacting Jo Hartwig! Can you not ask him to design us a full DC Map? he's done 80% of it allready
Well, it depends on the purpose of the map I suppose, whether you'd want something highly instructive and usable in a game, or something pretty to look at.
I'm currently thinking about using this high res. scan of the "regionless" ME Hartwig Map for a new DC Map version. Unfortunately I didn't have access to it at the time when I shopped the current version.
But I think it should have far more moderately displayed borders/icons/names etc., so the map itself comes more to the forefront. This is partly because I assume most people playing dc know the map very well by now, and use it less as source of info than as a tool for orientation and reference.
On the other hand, the blacked out mountain regions do have a very highly instructive use. And it is a bit confusing to see many mountain regions on the map that cannot actualy be used in the game. I'm still in doubt how to approach this problem.
But, perhaps you could somehow send me your basic version of this map, without borders etc. yet, but with all the names photoshopped out? It's a huge file, I know...
since this map is posted twice, I will delete the other post if you don't mind and add the comments to this thread.
