Howdy, all,

I ran into an interesting conundrum playing a deck against myself yesterday. The deck's theme was gathering a few weapons and old thrushes, slaying an at-home dragon manifestation, and then playing King under the Mountain and Returned Exiles for massive MP gain.

My company, which included Dain, traveled to Ovir Hollow, where Bairanax at Home was in play. However, the hazard creature Bairanax was then played on the company, which promptly (and fairly easily) killed it.

My question is, what happens then? Since a manifestation of Bairanax was killed, Bairanax at Home is removed from play and not defeated, right? Does that mean that King Under the Mountain (which requires the defeat of an at-home dragon manifestation) couldn't be played in that case, even though a dragon was defeated, at his home? If so, it seems like a pretty devious way to deny an enemy his KutM MPs...

Curious what everyone's take on the issue is.

Also, one question that's been bothering me for a while (I'm an entirely self-taught player of the MECCG, and the only people I've ever played with are the ones I've taught how to play): to kill an enemy creature who has body, you need to run a body check for every strike being faced, right? Does that mean that if Fram, alone, (and for the sake of argument, with Wormsbane) was attacked by Itangast Ahunt, and assuming Fram's roll trumps Itangast's prowess, would Itangast have to lose only one body check (as Fram faced only one strike) or would I roll four body checks for Itangast? Silly question, I suppose, but it always struck me a bit odd that a single character would have such a strong advantage in dragon-slaying than a group.

Thanks for your time!

From The Dragons rules book:

If at any time an attack from a manifestation of a unique Dragon is defeated or if the manifestation is otherwise removed from the game:

- All existing manifestations in play of the same Dragon are removed from the game
- No further manifestations of the same Dragon may be played.
- The Dragon's lair no longer has an automatic-attack.

So yes, you cant defeat the at Home manifestation anymore. But i doubt that this makes a good counter strategy.

As a side note, this is yet another one of the many silly things in METW, as Smaug wasn't home when he was killed. :)
The game is flawed, but this does not mean it cannot be loved.
