For those participants in the ME: The Necromancer project who have ordered a playmat, we present a few options and are interested to hear your opinions.
The options are too many for a poll, so please respond in a post below, in the indicated fashion, your preference in terms of:
1) C
2) E
3) yes
4) yes
5) I would only use indicators for play deck and discard pile. MP, out of play, sideboard, sites... personal preferences are too eclectic to indicate those on the playmat IMO. Among those, I think sideboard is the most important one, and I would place it on the opposite side of the playmat.
1) artwork D, A, C, B, F, E
2) position of slots for deck piles E, F
3) presence of accompanying text for deck piles and sections: YES
optional:
4) presence of deck pile indicators (YES), and of other sections / dotted lines (NO)
5) other comments or suggestions:
I would have loved to see a two player mat, with deck piles at two ends, with the map of middle earth in the middle. Additionally, two columns on each side for marshaling points counting (players may use a token of their choice).
1) artwork B, D, E
2) no slots
3) no
optional:
4) no and no
5) the only text I would be potentially interested in would be an MP counter along the bottom or side border to keep a running total of MP. Something integrated into the border pattern or just a faint/opaque symbol that isn't very distracting, for example: a line of dots or various meccg symbols with every 5th dot being slightly larger and hollow.
I don't think ordered any playmats either. But I think they look cool.
Depending on the final design(s) I'd take 2, ideally.
1) F or D AND A or C (would like one hero and one minion)
2) F or D
3) No text, no lines
4) deckiles: yes but only with text/lines sections: no
5) One minion and hero would be great as already suggested. No text or lines
on the deckpiles so you can use them or not and for whatever.
1) In this order, F, C and B . NOT A (sorry but I find Red-eyed Nazgul caricatural, not frightening...). The game is much about travel, so F first...
2) C with the 2 deck pile indicators on the right going closer to right side.
3) Yes
4) Though I gave my choice for 2 and 3, I'd prefer to have no indicators at all. Simply because we all have our own habits in where to put which deck, left, right, side by side, one above the other...
5) One minion and one hero would be nice, with the Middle-Earth logo if possible. And an Angus McBride playmat would be much appreciated...
And I'd certainly take two , especially if there are 2 differents playmats....
1) D, C, F in that order
2) I vote for no deck outlines...everyone does it differently anyway.
3) No, even if 2) ends up happening...keep it simple.
4) No and no
5) I'm really looking forward to this..would be awesome if both a minion and hero one was picked, but if we get only one, that's still really fantastic.
